Thursday is our rest day! And good thing because we are sore from our crazy workout yesterday! I think the squats and burpees caught up with us!!
June 8, 2017 at 3:40 pm #32328I felt so tired this morning I skipped my run – the shame! hopefully back at it tomorrow to meet my goal of 3 runs a week
@10dedfish we also have coyotes around
There’s nothing wrong with a rest day! Today was our rest day! We usually don’t do any workout on Thursdays! Just hop back to it tomorrow and you will be all set!
June 8, 2017 at 3:48 pm #32329I may or not run today, I haven’t decided. I did get my required walk in though and I’ll do my workout tonight, regardless.
Tomorrow, I run!June 8, 2017 at 5:01 pm #32341Just finished week 4, day 2 of C25K. The general feeling this has been
Still the same as Tuesday:
5 minute warmup
3 minutes running/1.5 minutes walking
5 minutes running/2.5 minutes walking

5 minutes running

June 8, 2017 at 6:26 pm #32352@bexruns, you run so much! If you don’t one day and workout regular I think that’s fine. You rock!
@kcboston, Great job! I’m seriously impressed! See, that’s what my knees won’t allow me to do anymore, can’t run 5 minutes straight. So, I walk. And job in between here and there. But you are doing great!June 8, 2017 at 8:45 pm #32358I may or not run today, I haven’t decided. I did get my required walk in though and I’ll do my workout tonight, regardless.
Tomorrow, I run!Nothing wrong with a day off!!! Enjoy it! I will be running tomorrow too!
June 8, 2017 at 8:46 pm #32359@kcboston You are doing great!! I’ve known the fetal position all too well at various points in trying! You are doing fantastic!!!

I think I take too many rest days :p Monday and Thursday this week so far but I get what you’re saying. The first C25K program I tried last year for my 5k had me running 6 days a week, with a rest day Wednesday. I felt like I was getting tendonitis after 3 weeks so I switched to something else. It’s important to rest!
June 9, 2017 at 8:32 am #32407@kcboston You are doing so great girl! Much better than me! I couldn’t run to those ratios!
June 9, 2017 at 8:34 am #32409@starbee You’ll get there at your own pace! This week I’ve hit a bit of a wall, so I think I need to change things up in order to continue. Do you have a goal in mind for the first 5k? I have no idea if I want to set a goal time, or just wing it and see how I do
June 9, 2017 at 8:35 am #32410Don’t get discouraged ladies, you guys are killing it. I almost passed out after my first spartan race. Lol

Trying slowing your pace down a little when you really start to struggle. The goal is to build endurance, speed will come with practice

That’s what I was thinking, thanks for reinforcing it. I have crazy stubby legs, so I can’t even walk very fast. Since I do it on the treadmill, I’ve been doing 3-3.5 mph on the walking parts, and this week I’ve been doing 5 mph on the runs. I was able to do 5.5 mph on the shorter runs, but now that it’s getting longer I think I have to dial it back a bit.
June 9, 2017 at 8:43 am #32415Leia and I ran this morning! She did so good! We did 1.5 miles in 22:31. I was impressed with myself for doing that extra half mile, and I felt like it went really well, sometimes each running stint felt hard but overall I didn’t feel like I was dying I was able to do 1.5 miles without really having to push myself and I didn’t feel exhausted. There were a couple times Leia wanted to stop and sniff things (so much trash! Coffee cups, cigarette packets, gum, etc.) so that slowed me down a little but she did so great! I think having her with me really helped to keep a steady pace. Sometimes I run a little too fast unintentionally and then I burn out before I’m done. Not today! So I’ve achieved my goal of 3 runs this week  if I have time before we leave tomorrow I’ll try to sneak one more in

6 days a week seems kind of crazy to me! The one I’m doing now is 3 days a week, and I think that’s all I can handle without my knees revolting. You’re doing awesome, but I know it’s too easy to be tough on yourself. Just think, you’ve probably run more this month than you did all the prior months of 2017 combined!
