I have a 5k on Saturday morning, 2 scouts are using it for the Eagle scout certification. Cost for entry is 10 cans of food for the food bank.

    That’s pretty awesome!

I have no races until September so for the next 3 months I’m on my own! However, this month I am participating in a run streak. You have to walk or run at least 1 mile everyday. Totally doable. I’m in a group text w/ about 8 people who are participating and are from all over the US so when I wake up at 4am to run, there’s already people awake texting! It’s kind of great.

My race schedule looks like this:
    September: 10k
    November: Full Marathon
    March 2018: Full Marathon

I’m sure other races will wind up sprinkled in there, but that’s it for now.

That’s crazy. I thought doing 3.1/6.2/13.2 was nuts but yeah. Or people who do Dopey at WDW. LOL

My friend is trying to talk me into doing a 5K the day after my full in Nov. Normally I’d be all in since I can walk it but the full is downhill and my legs are THRASHED after. Like, barely able to walk. LOL

I’m in training for three 5k races with the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts  I’ll race in June, July and August. I haven’t chosen my dates yet. I haven’t run on a regular basis since October of last year so I’m getting into it again.

Wednesday this week I did a 1 mile run (with walking breaks) in 13:49 which I was really pleased with! I know that’s nothing for the marathoners here, but like I said, I’m getting back into it  I ran a mile yesterday too but didn’t realize my Fitbit battery was dead so I have no idea what my time was.

Also I wanted to share that my goal for the last Virtual Running Shorts 5k in August is to be able to run the 3.1 miles without needing to take a walking break. I’ve found a 12 week plan that says you should be able to run for 30 minutes by the end of the program and if I stick to it I’ll finish the week of August 7th, so that should be right in time to run my 5k without walking! My first 5k (November last year) I finished in 38 something and that included walking breaks so I’m really hoping I will do better this time around!

I currently have no races planned, however my husband and I do have a friendly competition going between the 2 of us. We do what I call ‘baby runs’, in that they are all under 4 miles each.

Let me preface this by saying we don’t run. My knees have been abused to the point that they won’t allow me to run for long distances anymore and my wife never has. Plus, well, we’re old and so we walk. Now, we walk very briskly mind you, we completed our first 5k at our zoo in just over 55 minutes, at a 17+ minute/mile pace. We were very happy about that as we set a hopeful goal for ourselves at an hour! We are currently in training for the Dark Side 5k at WDW next April and our goal is to walk/jog to around a 15 minute/mile pace, or at least under the 16 minute/mile that Disney sets. We are also doing a Pancreatic Cancer 5k on 6/17 in honor of my mom who passed away from the disease in October. And we are signing up for a nighttime 5k with our Metroparks in July!
Since we don’t run, if you all would rather keep this to only runners, I will leave.

Wooohooo… you’ve got this @Nascfan !! Those are awesome goals that you have set, and I think you’re more than welcome in this thread  :D

No races officially scheduled. Training has been too inconsistent for me to commit the funds, which then hurts my ability to commit to training… It is a vicious circle. I need a rD event to get be back on the straight and narrow ;)
