    Great job @starbee! Nice job dealing with the dog and not kicking it too. Owners should be more conscientious.

    @10dedfish
    that’s what I tell my wife all the time when she gets discouraged and doesn’t want to do it. It doesn’t matter how slow we are or how far we go, we are lapping everybody on the couch! And adding health to our years and hopefully years to our lives!

    Way to go ladies! Remember, no matter how slow or hard it is, you’re lapping everyone on the couch! :clap: :clap:

    You folks make me tired just reading this thread! Congratulations for taking care of yourselves! :clap: :clap: :clap: :D

    Stopped by a crossfit gym yesterday to talk to them about classes. It’s pricey but hopefully will give me some gains. When I pitched it to the boss last night she was less than thrilled and asked why I couldnt take a class at the y. My single biggest complaint about the Y is that they schedule the majority of the classes during the day when no one who works can attend. So I looked into the Summer schedule for the Y HIIT class, 1 day a week at 5. She seemed to come around after that.

    I couldn’t handle Crossfit! Good for you! I have a friend who crushes it but I have no idea how! :surprised: you’re right about the Y, all of our local classes there are during the day. Do that many people seriously not work?! Wait, I know the answer to that, in my circle of friends I’m one of only 3 women I know who work (aside from my female coworkers)

    @starbee That stinks about the dog! We have people inconsiderate like that around here too! There is one lady that pushes a stroller on the walking trail and has 2 dogs she allows off leash. Keep in mind, we are right next to a fairly busy road. She won’t call them near her when she approaches people either. I’ve had a few instances that I was on the curb to the road to avoid her and a cyclist coming through that she wouldn’t gather her dogs for. Way to still get your run and biking in!!!
    And thanks for the kudos!!! Much appreciated!

    Two really good sessions in today, 45 minutes at lunch and about another 45 minutes with the wife after dinner. I was not feeling it at all on Monday but my partner and wife pushed me through. We make a good team, one pushes the other when one isn’t feeling it.

    Did 3 miles this morning. A little on the chilly side, low 60’s with a 12 mph headwind.

    Good job! That’s a pretty good headwind.

    I have a question, does anyone use pepper spray for dogs ? I did not know what everyone does about dogs ? I love them but I’m scared of them too because I don’t know if they are friendly, I was jogging our subdivision when a dog came running after me and I freaked out, it was friendly but I did not know that

    I dont carry anything, but I dont live in a subdivision. We do have alot of bears and coyotes. Almost got run down by a deer once.

    That said, if it makes you feel more comfortable running with it then go for it. I know people who trail run who carry guns when they run. It all depends on what makes you feel safe.

    You never know if a dog is friendly or not unless you know it personally. I think that it’s a good idea for any woman to carry something if she’s out alone, for four-legged or two-legged animals. If it makes you feel better and more safe, do it.

    Bears and coyotes @10dedfish? :surprised: You need something stronger than pepper spray!

    I don’t carry anything because I’ve only had it happen to me twice and the owners were nearby, just being stupid letting their dogs off leash. Pepper spray would help as Scott said for people or dogs, but you might get into a fight with the owner if you use it and they’re around, even though they’d be in the wrong :smirk: people around here (my husband informs me) carry sticks but I don’t buy it. That’s a little aggressive

    @starbee don’t worry about falling off for a day. Get right back on and pick it up tomorrow. No shame, no harm. You can do it!
