    Saw this posted on FB about the Virtual Series this Summer… I can’t wait to see the medals!

    I keep saying I’m not doing the Virtual Running Shorts again and then they keep upping the ante with the medals :P

    @missingWDW I’m sorry about your injury and the problems you’ve been having :( I hope you can get it addressed and fixed soon! I would join you in a D-Cot challenge :)

    @RIDineyPinGuy That’s terrible! :surprised: I hope you feel better again soon!

    And with that, I have completed one 5K every month for 12 months. (Except October when I ran two.) I have improved from 44:35 last March to 35:05 today. It’s been a good year. 🏃‍♀️🚶‍♀️🏃‍♀️😁

    @connie96 Way to go! :clap: that’s some dedication and clear progress! It paid off! I remember when in would take me around 50 minutes to run a 5K. Now I can do it in under 33 minutes.

    HELLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOO HUMANS!
    Had a rough couple weeks with pretty bad congestion, so I skipped out on 2 run days this past week. Decided to make Saturday a long run day to make up for some of what I missed. Ended up running 10 miles. Felt pretty good up until I hit that last mile and a half. Ugh. What a struggle. Got it done though, a bit slower that I was hoping for, but all things considered, I’m not complaining. My half is at the end of April. I’m not really following a training plan, just kinda working out and running when I can. But I think I’ll be ok. As long as I can stay healthy
    :oswald:
    I would :heart: to do the princess half next year…..
    :poca:

    @missingWDW I hope you’re feeling better now! Way to go on the 10 miles! :clap: If you can knock out 10 like that, I’m sure you’ll be just fine for your half. You still have 2 months :) and as far as the Princess half goes… DO IT! ;)

    @connie96 that is awesome! The time you have shaved off just astounds me! I am so proud of you! You have officially blown past me in pace!

    @missingwdw
    I hope all your health issues are behind you! Way to go on that 10 miler! Starbee is right, if you can just go out and do 10 miles like that, a half is nothing for you! Super job!

    I really want to do the virtual 5Ks this year! I thought about it last year but have zero interest in superheros. I love the parks theme. Never done a virtual race before but I think this will be fun. When does registration usually open? Do I have to worry about it selling out quickly?

    I’ve been very consistent with my running. I have to remind myself that I’m building a base and I’m not going to be anywhere near where I used to be when I was running full marathons, either time-wise or distance-wise. I’m running 13-15 miles a week and considering how consistent I’ve been for 4 weeks I feel great about it. I’m going to be running a 5K in a couple weeks and am looking forward to it, even if it won’t be my fastest by a long shot. I’m doing yoga on my off days, stretching a lot, and getting massages whenever I can. Being in my mid-30s means I have to spend a lot more time on that kind of thing than I did when I was 20 and could just ignore any tight muscles. Getting older is such a hassle sometimes. LOL

    @lemontwist we’re intrigued by the virtuals this summer also. Very interested in the parks theme! I see on runDisney that registration should open March 24. I’m not sure how quickly the virtual sells out so I think we plan to sign up rather quickly if we want to do them. Great job keeping up on your running!

    Registration used to open in April but it looks like Nascfan found it opens earlier this year on March 24. I have done the Virtual Race series twice (2017 & 2019) so ask me any questions you have! You can also PM me :)

    Are you wanting to do the challenge or just one race? Last year everything sold out but the individual races were the first to sell out before the challenge. Nothing sold out within days, but I do remember that by the time May rolled around (remember registration opened in April) June’s 5K was already sold out. I expect the Parks Series will be popular so I would always say register as soon as possible if you can to avoid disappointment. The price won’t change depending on when you register.

    @Nascfan thanks for the heads up on March 24… I kept seeing a lot of “registration will open soon”… which, I can be impatient like a 5 year old sometimes so I think soon should mean like 10 minutes. LOL

    @starbee
    I do want to do all 3 so I’ll do the virtual challenge. It’ll be fun.

    @starbee, @nascfan, thank you for the encouragement!

    So, I have signed up for my next 5k to run on the morning of 3/28. I find that I am also tempted to sign up for a glow-run that same evening… so, two 5Ks in one day… Something I have never even considered before. Does this sound like a fun thing to do once or just ridiculously stupid?? I have done 10k in training several times in the past couple months so I’m not worried about the distance. Maybe I’m more worried about wimping out somewhere in the middle of the day and skipping out on the second one. I don’t mind spending money on races but I’m very much opposed to bailing on a race I paid for.

    @connie96 I think you’d be fine to do one in the morning and one in the evening. I do suggest some sort of nap in the afternoon though. Keep your energy from depleting. And eat well that day too, protein and carbs I think, along with extra hydration, lots of that. You don’t want cramping in the evening one. Throw speed out the window and you’ve got the makings of a fine day and evening 5k each!
