We got a 6:15am run in today and it was actually cool out when we started! It was just 64*!!!!! It almost felt chilly for us since we’ve been so hot! There are a few forest fires ranging from 70-250 miles away and the winds have changed. The smoke came into town this morning and you could smell it. It was hard on the sinuses and lungs. But I pushed through and pulled out a fantastic time for me! I did 3.1 miles in 35:33, averaged an 11:28 minute/mile pace! I was so happy! I felt pretty good too! My face/sinuses hurt by the end though. We will have to see if the smoke leaves to run this weekend. Not risking too much exposure, smoke does a number on my sinuses and lungs. I can’t even hang around a campfire for long. Our sun rose a firy red, that’s how I knew the smoke was strong. You can see the smoke haze in the pics too.

Ugh that smoke is no bueno! But you still did such a great run! it was 66* when I ran at 6:20am this morning because we had big thunderstorms last night. It was cloudy too so great for running – cool but not cold. Sounds like you caught a little bit of a break with 64*

@starbee If we didn’t have the smoke, it would have been perfect! Your weather sounded amazing to run in!!

I gotta say some D-CoT forum posts when taken out of context give me a giggle. It’s because you see the last one first such as:

I immediately thought “why did you have the smoke before you went running?” LOL

The smoke from the forest fire really zapped my sinuses and I feel blah today. So we just took the dog for a quick 1.25 mile walk. We found a Yorkie out wandering. Thankfully she had her owners name and number on her tag! The pups name is Roxy and was a sweetie. She was just around the corner from her house. They didn’t know she had gotten out so they were thankful.

Ugh, sorry you’re feeling blah :( way to go for still getting a good walk in! And you are such a great neighbor to take care of that little Yorkie! I would be so thankful too if someone brought my baby back home!

Oh my goodness @eeyorepoohfan, that was a wonderful thing you did! You guys are such great people! I’m sure her owners were so thankful. Great job doing anything today, even a walk like that. Sorry it’s still making you feel blah.

@nascfan Thank you! She was such a cute pup and her parents were so happy to have her home! I’m feeling better this evening, so that’s a huge positive! If it looks clear enough, I will go for a run in the morning.

I’m glad to see you’re starting to feel better. We’re getting a training walk in in the morning so we could be running/walking together! Since today’s Pancreatic Cancer 5k with the family was excruciatingly slow we’ll feel better after getting the legs moving at a good pace.
