@10dedfish Great job on getting 5.5 miles in! 75-77 sounds pretty good, although that can be brutal if it’s humid. Sorry about all the bugs – yuck!

I was on the fence about running today. But I decided to get a 5k in anyway. I didn’t leave the house until 8am and it was hot! I took a new route and had 1.5 miles downhill to start with. So my pace was insanely fast! Which meant the return was all uphill and directly into the sun. I slowed down on the return. It was 78* when I finished.

@eeyorepoohfan great job getting pout there. I just wanted to sit on the couch and play video games myself.

@10dedfish I hear you! Staying in the AC sounded like a much better plan? LOL But I was happy to get it in! We really won’t be able to get more than 5-6 miles in for much if summer, just too hot. So we will be getting our distance runs in come Fall!

Hey everybody! @eeyorepoohfan and @10dedfish, you guys are amazing! Just seeing how you guys keep with it and keep a great attitude, it’s been really inspiring

This weekend was crazy, we were up in Vermont for family stuff, so we got back home around 11:30 am yesterday. I got unpacked, got changed, and hit the treadmill to get my Couch to 5k in. In keeping with the insanity that has been week 5 of the program, I open it up and it says:

    Week 5, Day 3
    5 Minute Warmup
Run 2 miles (or 20 minutes)
    5 Minute Cooldown

    Uhhhhhhhhh
    null

I had so many questions when I saw this, but my biggest question was if you are running a 10 minute mile, what the heck are you doing on couch to 5k? :P

So, even though I was crazy tired and sore from all the flying and driving over the weekend, I figured I’d give it a shot. I told myself I’d slow down to a walk if I really thought I couldn’t run any longer, and I mentally quit about every 2 minutes. But, I actually did it! I ran the full 20 minutes. My pace was really slow (4.5 mph), but I did it, and that’s what matters.

    Final Stats:
    30 minutes, 6 seconds
    2.005 miles

    AMAZING JOB!

Great work both getting off the couch (the hardest part of any workout) and making the run without stopping! I’m super dang proud of you!

@kcboston Girl, if you are running 20 minutes already I think you’ve graduated from Couch to 5k! You’re leaving me in the dust! Way to go for getting on the treadmill despite a tiring weekend

@kcboston Way to go!! I know these last few weeks have been very difficult for you and your family. It’s hard enough at times to get out and run under normal circumstances. One thing I love about running is that I could run with friends or I could choose to go alone. I often prefer to go alone because it gives me the opportunity to process my thoughts, to clear my head, and/or to just simply shift my focus to a particular running goal.

Anyway, really proud of you for getting out there after all you all have been through.  :goofyhat:
