Great job @bexruns! You’re going to be busy the next few weekends! Hit it girl!
October 20, 2017 at 12:17 pm #53157@bexruns Way to go on getting your run in this morning!!!!!! You are definitely in training mode with signing up for another quick race! You will be ready for that marathon next month!
October 20, 2017 at 12:21 pm #53158So I slept absolutely horribly last night. Finally fell asleep around 2:30am. Alarm went off at 5am. My eyes were blood shot and watering and I couldn’t see straight. I got up and sat on the couch for a bit. Ryan looked at me and said to just go back to bed because if I attempt to run in this state, I will just end up hurting myself. I think I got about 45 more minutes of sleep before the alarm went off for work. I felt a bit better and am glad Ryan convinced me to rest. I haven’t had a night like that in a while. We had rain and light storms until 2:30am. So I’m not sure if that was keeping me awake, I don’t usually have those issues though since this was a fairly quiet storm.
October 20, 2017 at 1:11 pm #53160@eeyorepoohfan, as I already told you, but I will reiterate here, I am so sorry for that fitful night! Ryan was absolutely right. You needed to go back to bed and get some rest. You were in no shape to run and just would have hurt yourself, something none of us needs while you are in training for Dopey. Prayers for much better sleep tonight for you.
October 20, 2017 at 2:03 pm #53161@nascfan Thank you!! I don’t get those nights very often. But when I do, they are doozies! I’m glad I rested more.
October 20, 2017 at 2:56 pm #53162@eeyorepoohfan best not to push a potentially dangerous run. Missing that one will not derail your training. Getting injured or sick from pushing a run on no rest will.
October 20, 2017 at 3:35 pm #53173@RIDisneyPinGuy Thank you! Thankfully Fridays are just 5K’s so I know I’m okay on my training plan. But it stinks. However, I know my body well enough to know when it’s safe or not safe to run. I’ve had a few times that I’ve taken a week off because I just felt off for various reasons. The times I’ve ignored myself are usually miserable runs or painful due to various reasons. I really can’t afford sickness or injury right now. My poor sister that’s doing Dopey with us was in a car accident last week. She hit a cement barrier going 70mph. She will be okay, but is so sore right now. She’s resting, getting adjustments, icing, etc. All the right things. But she’s concerned about her training because realistically she will be taking off a total of at least 3 weeks from running, and that’s just to start her short runs again. She’s almost 2 weeks off right now. But she’s a good strong runner, has been running for over 10 years and has completed at least 2 full marathons and over a dozen half marathons.

Oh no! Hope your sister feels better soon, glad it was not serious.

October 22, 2017 at 8:34 am #53246Haven’t been posting much but I have been running. This morning was tough. Started off feeling good, but it didn’t last. Stopped and walked quite a bit. Lots on my mind and probably should have laid off the Heinekens last night. Hmmmm
Now to catch up on about 6 weeks of posts here! Just a little light Sunday reading -
