StupidJudy71 XPWe had so much fun on our one AK day last year that we decided to plan two this trip, since we will have plenty of time we will check out all the animal trails and hop over to Conservation Station, see some shows too, not sure if Nemo will be open but definitely Lion King, I think bird show will be gone by then too.

StupidJudy71 XPJust took a look, Nemo closing for refurb the day we are going, nothing official for Flights of Wonder, Kali closed for refurb.
Good news Splash Mountain reopening Feb 1!
December 5, 2017 at 4:56 pm #57985It’s so nice to slow it down at Animal Kingdom so you can really appreciate everything that park has to offer. There’s so much live entertainment now too!
December 5, 2017 at 5:14 pm #57986I know it’s silly but I really want to see Frozen without waiting an hour so I will get a FP for that, normally we want Test Track but we can always get in the single riders line and that moves pretty quick usually. Bummer that Frozen, Test Track and Soarin are all in the same tier.
Not silly at all! The wait time was something outrageous when we were there, then it went down and was nuts the rest of the day. We waited 20-30 mins in the FP line because it was backed up from being down. Not a bad wait considering standby was over 2 hours, and I wanted to experience it because I hadn’t before. But man was I glad I had a FP after riding! Not worth a long wait in my opinion. I would not pick Soarin’ for a FP. My personal preference, I LOVE the ride! Let me make that clear! But in October the waits were never as long as others (I think 45 mins was the worst I saw) and there were always FPs available for it on the day. I guess because of the second screen. Test Track by comparison had 60 minute waits all day and no FP availability. Just my observations in October

StupidJudy71 XPOkay finally have a moment to update this, been wanting to since this morning but work/life is getting in the way!
I was sitting at the computer at 7h00 sharp and got everything we wanted! Here’s a recap:
Saturday night when we get in we go straight to Epcot from the airport and have FPs for Test Track, Mission Space and SSE, if we are doing well on time we will do a few more things in Future World and call it a night.
Sunday – Animal Kingdom
Attempt rope drop (no FoP FPs to be found) and get in standby queue for FoP and then we have a FP for Navi River between 11 and noon (figured we would just get it done and not wait in case the line is crazy), lunch at Satuli Canteen, then head over to Dinoland, FP for Primeval Whirl (we just it so much!) and make our way over to Asia, FP for Everest. I am trying to have a plan this trip and not having to walk back and forth between lands for our FPs. If the line isn’t too bad for Rivers of Light we will end the day with that, then go check in at CORONADO!
Monday – Epcot
Here the plan is get in standby at Soarin when we get there, after that we have a FP for Living with the Land (I know, not necessary but since second tier are just there, figured I would use it) after that head over to Imagination then head to World Showcase via Canada, lunch in either Morocco or France and check out the rest of WS and get to Norway for our Frozen FP between 1h45-2h45. Mexico then over to Future World for Test Track Standby or single rider, FP for Mission Space at 6h40-7h40, then head back to WS for our 8h30 ADR at Nine Dragons. Not sure we will go over to Living Seas, will see how we are doing on time.Tuesday – Magic Kingdom
Again, trying to keep some sort of plan to keep from going back and forth in the park, plan is head straight to Peter Pan (what is the quickest way if we can’t walk through the castle?) do a bunch in Fantasyland (the boys least favorite land :P) and then FP for Mine Train at noon, lunch at Columbia Harbour House, HM, head over to BTMRR for FP between 2-3, Splash (maybe I will sneak away to watch FoF while the boys ride Splash repeatedly) after that head over to Adventureland, quick dinner at Casey’s at some point, and finish in Tomorrowland, FP for Space Mountain at 6h35-7h35, I wanted to end up in Tomorrowland at night so it’s all lit up. Happily Ever After to end the day! What time does Casey’s close if the park closes at 8h00? We will take our time in the shops after the fireworks.Continued in next post!

StupidJudy71 XPWednesday – Studios! Or what’s left of it.
For Studios I want to start with the meet and greet with Olaf, check out what’s in that area (Star Wars movie thing?) and then FP for Star Tours, then Muppetsland and then over towards Pixar Place, FP for Toy Story, lunch to be determined, maybe try to get the boys to watch the Frozen singalong with me (bribes might work) and then over to Hollywood Blvd for ToT FP. Our friends should meet up with us by then so we will get in the standby line at RnRC and then maybe ToT again (my favorite!). Dinner someplace at Disney Springs.
Thursday – Back to AK
Earliest FoP available was 1h35-2h35 (and this was the first FP I got when I logged on right at 7am). We will start the day with a FP for the Safari, then FP for Lion King show, and head over to Pandora. Lunch to be determined. By then we will have used all our FPs so maybe we will try to get some for Everest or Dinosaur or other. This being our second day at AK we will then do whatever we didn’t get done the first day and redo favorites!Friday – MK again!
I was debating between Epcot and MK and getting FPs in the evening for the Mine Train, Splash and BTMRR is what sold me, I just loooove those rides at night! So Friday morning we will swim at Coronado, pack up and check out and make our way over to MK early afternoon. Maybe lunch at Pepper Market before we go? That night we sleep at our friends’ house in Mount Dora and then airport early Saturday morning.
December 6, 2017 at 2:31 pm #58102Your plans sound awesome! I do like how you have it so your aren’t criss-crossing too much. So many times I’ve seen people do that….it’s exhausting!
Anyway, quickest way to Peter Pan’s Flight if not through the castle is to the left, at Liberty Square. As soon as you cross the bridge take a right (at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments) and take the path along the river. That will dump you out right behind the castle, turn left and follow Philharmagic around the corner and you’re there.
Many times they will hold you until people can start going through the castle so there is not a huge time advantage this way, we experienced that first hand in October but you may get lucky and not have that happen. Either way, you’ll be one of the first riding, no matter whether they hold or not, it’s only a couple minutes.
Casey’s *should* stay open until close I think.
For Studios you mentioned Star Wars movie? Are you referring to the Launch Bay where they have a film? If so, that is nowhere near Olaf meet, but over by Voyage of Little Mermaid, to the right of the Chinese Theatre.December 6, 2017 at 3:02 pm #58124
StupidJudy71 XP@nascfan, thanks for the shortcut! That’s the way I know to get to Fantasyland, just wondering of there was another shortcut.
No, not the Launch Bay movie, there is another one, Path of the Jedi. It’s weird to have two different movies but we need attractions at Studios!

December 6, 2017 at 3:17 pm #58132Well I’ll be doggoned! I didn’t know about this! We may have to check it out next week, thanks for the tip!

StupidJudy71 XPI am not sure how we found it last time, probably looked at the map for things to do

StupidJudy71 XPTold the boys about Frozen ride and sing along and I did not get the reaction expected! Alex said, that’s fine, I wanted to see what the ride is all about. And as for the sing along, he said if Matthew sings we can go.
December 6, 2017 at 9:01 pm #58172I’ve noticed the queue for Path of the Jedi is one air conditioned room with a ton of XBOXes with Disney Infinity 3.0 hooked up, ready to play. If any of the boys (or anybody else) decides they wish not to do something, the Game Port can be quite the amusement ( it’s better than Path of the Jedi, if you ask me ) Your plans sound like a fun filled trip! Good FP too!
December 6, 2017 at 9:06 pm #58175
StupidJudy71 XPI don’t remember the Xboxes! But that’s an idea! I want to embarass them at the sing along though…
December 6, 2017 at 9:08 pm #58179The XBOXes appeared around June. They’re the same ones from Launch Bay, just re-located because of the new BB-8 Meet and greet But whatever floats your Disney boat
