@nascfan Thanks! The rain helped on that one this may change as I get further into my training, but I’m aiming for around a 14’00” pace for the half and full to give me some cushion for characters but at the same time not push it and burn out. I’m always worse at running in the afternoons/evenings usually for whatever reason. I never seem to be as fast or have the same endurance as I do in the mornings. I hope I can stay consistent so I don’t have a repeat of yesterday!
September 25, 2019 at 12:29 pm #116105The day takes a toll on us. I think we’re all slower the later we go out.

Ain’t that the truth! The last two days that I’ve run after work I’m just

bexruns374 XPGood morning!
I know I haven’t posted in here much lately but I e been out running when I can or getting some other kind of activity in. Last weekend Hannah and I went to Utah to visit Taylor and got 11 miles of walking/hiking in
My next marathon is in 22 days and as usual I’m undertrained but I know I’ll push through it. Because as anyone who has run a marathon can tell you (@eeyorepoohfan) a huge portion of it is all mental and pushing yourself to keep moving.
As always, thanks for the encouragement here, on Twitter, Facebook and IG. It means the worldSeptember 28, 2019 at 3:10 pm #116174You can do it @bexruns!! Marathons are so much a mental challenge! Keep your body safe and keep on moving forward! I will be cheering you on!!
September 28, 2019 at 3:18 pm #116180I’ve been getting very short 1-2 mile runs lately. Trying to get some sort of base since I’ve taken quite a while off. Today I was shooting for a 5k. Just over 2 miles in I was crossing the street and rolled my ankle in a pothole. I managed to keep my feet under me and avoided face planting. But my ankle was too sore to continue. I tried running for a little bit but was in pain and tears. I texted Ryan to let him know. Thankfully he was home and a mile away from me. He picked me up with Winnie girl in the 4Runner and got me home. He got it adjusted, taped and iced. It’s still angry with me so now I shall rest and watch Princess Bride. I’m so bummed because I had been feeling good on my run and in a really good mindset. This will push back my training for our half marathon in January. But I know that I can get back on track once I’ve healed up. Our temps are finally beautiful in the mornings!

I have word from a nursing student that the Sun actually gives your body Melatonin, which is what makes you tired at night. So it’s no wonder we’re at our best in the morning
September 28, 2019 at 5:13 pm #116182@bexruns That’s pretty cool you got to go hiking in Utah! You’re a marathon-running fiend! I’m sure you’ll do fine! We’ll be cheering you on
September 28, 2019 at 5:18 pm #116183@eeyorepoohfan Stupid potholes! Stupid rolled ankles! Stupid Judy! Seriously though, I’m so sorry your 5K attempt ended so abruptly that way Don’t get me wrong, I like how you’re spending your time now that you’re grounded but I really Really hope you’re back on track soon! I want to be able to run that 1/2 in January with my training coach! Praying for your ankle!
September 28, 2019 at 5:27 pm #116184@rocketear99 Aw! Thank you!! I have full confidence I will be back at it soon! I promise that I will be running that half with you in January!! Stupid potholes! Stupid Judy!! But it really was the perfect choice to boost my spirits a bit!
September 28, 2019 at 5:29 pm #116185Christy and I ran the 1/2 Marathon at the Susquehanna River Run today. It was delightfully breezy and overcast during the race with temps starting at 55* and climbing into the 70’s before we finished. It was at once strange and cool to cross the 1.5 mile bridge over the river on foot. Anywho, since this was for our POT, I will cut to the chase: WE DID IT!!! 11’55″/mile pace!!! I’m so darn happy and wasted no time submitting our POT to Disney for the Dopey Challenge!!!
Here’s our official results:

September 28, 2019 at 6:17 pm #116186@rocketear99 Oh my goodness!!!! I am so stinking proud of you both!!!! That’s almost to the minute what my POT was for Dopey!! I don’t have a POT for January so I will be a corral or two behind you guys. I am just bouncing for you guys!!!!!!!!! Way to go!!! Great weather and course, it looks like!
September 29, 2019 at 7:33 pm #116191@bexruns you are still going to be great in your marathon! You are a total rockstar!
@eeyorepoohfan I was so sorry to hear about your ankle! I swear if you didn’t have bad luck with these you’d have no luck at all! You’re going to be great though! I know you’ll make sure to heal before getting back out there. I love your method of rest!
@rocketear99 way to go, both you and Christy! I’m so proud of you! You nailed it buddy! Got your POT and a great half! How neat to cross the bridge! I love the medal!September 29, 2019 at 10:35 pm #116192@nascfan It’s a true talent of mine! Wasn’t it the best resting method?!
