@starbee I do use an app to track my miles, I have it on alert so I know when I finish 1 mile
And how far I have gone.June 21, 2019 at 8:14 pm #112610What have I done?! Just signed up for the Night of the Dead Run here:
https://blackswamprunner.com/run-infoI must be some special kind of crazy!
June 22, 2019 at 5:02 pm #112628@nascfan That sounds like so much fun and I wish I could do it! I want to hear all about it!
June 22, 2019 at 5:16 pm #112629Accidentally went a week without running (again) I was always going to rest Sunday and Monday after my half, but I planned to run again on Tuesday. It didn’t happen because of storms so I tried for Wednesday. Tuesday night I had a last minute council meeting after work that ran late and I ended up getting to bed way too late to get up and run Wednesday morning. Pushed it to Thursday but was up every hour Wednesday night taking either Trixie or Leia outside because they both had upset stomachs. So Thursday’s run didn’t happen. Thursday night we had my husband’s cousin’s 40th birthday party which went on late and I did not get up early to run yesterday either. So I ended up finally running this morning. Excuses, excuses, I know.
This morning it was super hot. I didn’t get up as early as I probably should have to run but I was tired from the week. I started running at 8:45am and it was already 88* and I didn’t even look at what the heat index was because I knew after yesterday’s 105* it was going to be bad and I needed to run. It was hotter than my half the week before! so glad I didn’t have temps like that for the half because I barely made it 4 miles today. I did get it done but I was a little slower in the heat as you’d expect. It was a struggle run for sure but I did it.
Time: 46:16
Distance: 4.00 miles
Pace:11’32”We’ll see what tomorrow brings. I plan on running but the forecast is currently saying storms again the good news is I’m way beyond target in my Dopey training so this is not a detrimental set back
June 22, 2019 at 8:26 pm #112631@starbee oh you will!
Great job getting four miles in that heat! And still a super pace, you did fantastic! I hope you can get out tomorrow too, you are doing great!

missingWDW183 XPI know I keep whining about my allergies, BUT IT’S RIDICULOUS ALREADY
GO AWAY SO I CAN RUN!
June 24, 2019 at 9:20 am #112675Christy and I went for a 5K run on the B-E-A-utiful Island of Hilton Head this morning! It gets HOT during the day, so we got out there while it was around 80 instead of 90
We did a beach run, so when you look at the full stats, the map shows us running in the ocean It took us 0:34:43 for a pace of 11’10″/mile.
This 5K is what I entered for the Captain Marvel Virtual 5K Full stats: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3779228229
June 24, 2019 at 9:47 am #112678Ugh, those stupid allergies @missingwdw ! I’m so sorry they are still giving you fits! I hope they calm down soon so you can get out.
Great job @rocketear99 ! What a wonderful place for a run! Fantastic pace too, awesome getting it done early this morning, I’ll bet it was beautiful!
June 24, 2019 at 10:14 am #112683Great job @rocketear99 !! Awesome pace !!
I ran/walked all weekend, bad food choices was my inspiration but Sunday I had a pace of 13.29 which is my best so far !
July 1, 2019 at 5:44 pm #112938@rocketear99 Beach run would be so much fun! Great time and pace for your Captain Marvel 5K! And I get what you mean about the heat. This time of year in Oklahoma the lowest temp you’re going to get it probably mid 70s.
@breesmommy5 Way to go on improving your pace!
@missingWDW Have your allergies backed off any yet?July 1, 2019 at 5:51 pm #112939Just wanted to do a quick check in! I haven’t been able to run at all due to our air quality and allergies. I get out to walk Winnie 1.25 miles 3-4 days/week. I’ve been getting in Insanity Max 30 workouts in 3-4 days a week as well! I need to up my number of days I’m working out. I’m getting stronger in my workouts. My push-ups are going deeper, so are my squats. I’m feeling stronger in my core as well. I’m hoping that this will help to strengthen me so that once I am able to get out to run that I will have some strength and stamina in me! I don’t anticipate running anytime soon. We are in full on summer mode with our lows staying in the 70’s and high’s right near 100*. But if our air and allergies clear out, I will get out there as soon as I safely can! Keep up on your workouts everyone! Summer can be tough with the temps so stay safe and hydrated!
July 2, 2019 at 6:55 am #112942Those workouts should help so much for when you can get back to running @eeyorepoohfan! You are doing great with them! I’m so happy you’re feeling stronger and better! Keep it up superstar, so proud of you!

missingWDW183 XP@starbee
Hey! I have to get back into this thread and see everyone’s progress. My allergies have been better, but my running took a serious hit from it all. To say I’m struggling with my runs still would be an understatement
No motivation. No endurance. No strength. And I’ve completely lost that mental strength to push myself. I just give in when I get tired and walk, even though I know if I just push past it I’d eventually feel better and hit my stride. The weight gain hasn’t helped either….
I’m not stopping though. I still go out every other day. Some days are ok, some days are meh. Today? Meh. 6 miles 11:19/mile. Way off for me, but I did something so at least I can say that! If I give in altogether and stop running, it’ll be the kiss of death for me and running!
Just keep swimming…..just keep swimming…..just keep swimming…..
July 2, 2019 at 10:15 am #112955@eeyorepoohfan Summer hurts but you’re making it work! I need to get back in to strength training but I’ve been too focused on running
@missingWDW That’s right! Just keep swimming! I’m sorry you’ve regressed that really sucks but it happens. I am very guilty of beating myself up over it and just like you the weight gain really grinds me down. You’re right, so much of it is mental!July 2, 2019 at 10:35 am #112959
