@breesmommy5 Way to go!!! I’m so proud of you!!!
February 24, 2019 at 2:33 pm #103396Got in 4 miles this morning! Kept to our 60:30 run/walk ratio and felt good today! I’m so thankful the winds have calmed and we can get training miles in again! We will get in longer runs later this week to up our mileage! Thanks to my awesome hubby for staying by my side and keeping me encouraged! And thanks to @nascfan for the encouraging texts throughout our run!
February 24, 2019 at 7:11 pm #103414@eeyorepoohfan it’s always a pleasure to cheer you! You did so great! Thank you Ryan for encouraging and keeping you on track! You did absolutely fantastic today! I am so, so proud of you! Such a great pace and finally calmer winds!
February 24, 2019 at 7:46 pm #103420@nascfan You are seriously amazing! I appreciate you and your cheers, always! Ryan is super sweet on our runs when he can tell that I’m getting tired or struggling. He just tells me I’m doing great or pacing great or that we are almost done, etc. So I really appreciate both of you! Thank you! I did feel amazing today and just kept a good pace! Our mile 2 is always slower due to the sharp hills and the amount of hills we have in that mile. But I’m glad that I can pick up the pace again after that mile! The calmer winds really did help! I’ve been sneezing a lot this afternoon, but otherwise I feel pretty good!
February 24, 2019 at 7:54 pm #103421Ah that makes sense with your second mile! Always the toughest. You pick up the pace beautifully after that! Seriously great job!
February 24, 2019 at 7:59 pm #103422Yep! Anytime we do this route, that mile will always be slower! Thank you!!!
February 25, 2019 at 8:57 am #103466@eeyorepoohfan That is a most excellent pace you have on those 4 miles yesterday! Wow, great job to you and your cheering section @nascfan for keeping you going! Best wishes on your longer runs!!!
February 25, 2019 at 9:07 am #103468Looks like there’s a few more folks eyeing up the Dopey 2020!!! I’m getting more excited for the possibility of running it with some fellow D-COT Pals!!! I hope you all are able to join me!
Christy and I completed a 6.5 mile run yesterday afternoon. It’s the first time Christy has gone that far for a run and things look promising for the future! We ran on a rail trail the next county over from us which was more hilly than most rail trails. We finished in 1:22:05 for an average pace of 12’37″/mile Here’s the full stats:
February 25, 2019 at 9:47 am #103475Oh my goodness, great job @rocketear99 and Christy! You guys are doing phenomenal! Terrific distance and time! With almost a year to go, you guys are going to be so well trained and ready for Dopey 2020! So proud of you both!

missingWDW183 XPToday was a run day for me. Alarm was set for 5am, which is considered “sleeping in” for @10dedfish
I woke at 4:30, shut the alarm off, and went back to sleep until 6:30.
Some days are just like that I guess
February 26, 2019 at 9:40 am #103548February 26, 2019 at 10:03 am #103553@nascfan Thanks so much Scott!!! How are you and Kathy doing?

Yeah it is sleeping in for him!
Some days mornings are just overrated…well all days really. You get points for trying though!
February 26, 2019 at 10:11 am #103556@missingwdw whoops! Oh well, you obviously needed the sleep!
@breesmommy5 just a great job! You did so awesome! I’d say most runners skip a day, a walk wouldn’t hurt you but do be careful pushing it too much. As you increase speed and pace, your muscles will need more time to recover than just a walk.
@rocketear99 I am ready! Legs are feeling strong and loose, back is good, I’m ready to go! We just increased the distance for Kathy on Sunday and she maintained a 15:18 pace I think, that sounds right, so just need to get her a little bit faster and she’ll be ready. The excitement of the race always makes her go quicker too!February 26, 2019 at 10:11 am #103557@Breesmommy5 Wow you did fantastic!!! So happy for you going further and feeling great afterward!!!
When it comes to consecutive days of running/walking, I know it’s kind of a personal preference thing. Christy and I tend to run every other day no matter how we feel. But only you can truly know you when it comes to running. So if you’re feeling great and want to workout again tonight, then go for it. Just keep “listening” to your body
