@rocketEAR99 Thank you! Our spring winds are started so early this year! I have such bad allergies here that when it does kick up, breathing becomes even more challenging for me. So we are way behind schedule on our training because on days we are supposed to run, the winds are just too strong. We are really hoping to get up to at least 11 miles before our half marathon at the beginning of April! Our farthest is 7 miles right now! You and Christy are doing awesome! Keep it up! I love that you get to see bald eagles! We would see them in the winter months along the river when we lived in Iowa! So cool!
February 18, 2019 at 11:27 am #102758Great job @rocketear99 and Christy! You guys did awesome! I love the eagles, and you had on and Eagle shirt too! How appropriate! Keep up the great work, you’re doing terrific!

AnonymousXPSince transitioning from RI (where we have had no winter) to WI to help with my Mom 10 days ago: no runs, walks, run/walks, in fact, almost no outside time. Temps with highs in the minus range (-26 10 days ago) to teens, snow/sleet/freezing rain almost every other day, and generally … or in other words … MEH!
I have had to resort to body weight anaerobic exercises (push-ups, crunches, squats, planks, etc.) which is probably good for me as a switch, but I can’t stand them and miss getting my 1-hour outdoor exercise every day.

10dedfish177 XPGot another 5k in with my neighbor this morning, balmy 36 deg with W/C of about 30. Beautiful full moon though, absolutely gorgeous. So, stats: 5K distance. 9:59 pace. WOOT!

February 19, 2019 at 8:19 pm #102928Anyone planning on signing up for Dopey? I’m considering it if I get finances to work
@10dedfish do it with me! I’m considering it for 2020 currently in the research phase…February 20, 2019 at 11:56 am #102977
bexruns374 XP@starbee DOOOO IT.
I want to do it, but next year isn’t happening. It’s waaaaay too much $$ for us and with our trips this summer and one kid starting college in the fall and the other one starting next year….I’m looking at this being my 45th birthday party (7 months early ) in 2024. We’ll see
Welp, my mileage is still low but I’ve been consistent with running at least and with my speed. So, we’ll see how LA goes. We’re 4.5 weeks out. I feel ready. I won’t feel ready at mile 18 though, I’m sure
February 20, 2019 at 6:04 pm #103031@10dedfish I’m a one and done Dopey runner! But seriously, do it!! I know you would rock it!! I am absolutely so glad that I ran and completed the Dopey Challenge!! I am happy to answer any questions you may have! My bestie is running Dopey 2020! I did post all of my trip reports and added in pictures to the comments for that trip if you didn’t get to read them before! It can help you gage the wakeup times, bedtimes, miles logged in walking each day, temps, etc! I believe @RocketEAR99 and his wife are training right now for Dopey 2020!
@bexruns I really hope that you can run Dopey in 2024! You would rock it! You are already used to running marathons! No biggie to add in 3 prior days of running! But seriously, it’s an awesome accomplishment to do! That feeling at the finish line of the full marathon is something that won’t ever be beat! Great job on keeping up on your runs and speed! I have full confidence in your for the LA Marathon! You’ve got this!!!
@starbee I really hope that you do Dopey!!!!February 21, 2019 at 7:45 am #103052
10dedfish177 XPThanks @eeyorepoohfan!
I would love to do Dopey, but I also have to make sure that everything else is paid for first! Stupid Adulting! How fast did the Dopey sell out last year? Anyone know?
February 21, 2019 at 2:01 pm #103108@10dedfish Oh trust me, I understand that completely!! Dopey is NOT cheap! We paid for two of us to do it! Dopey often doesn’t sell out, except on anniversary years. 2018 was the 5th anniversary. The opened up more bibs than usual for the Dopey Challenge and it sold out fast. However, I don’t think it sold out for this past January. So my guess is that it likely won’t sell out for 2020. Though the Half Marathon anniversary falls in 2020. But I still say you should have a bit to decide. My honest answer is that anytime you want to register for a Disney race, be online and prepared to register immediately at the time it opens on registration day! The races haven’t been selling out like they used to. I think cost really does play a factor in that. And then you have people like me that will do the challenge once and not again. But each year varies so much on how many people register.
February 23, 2019 at 10:00 am #103234I ran yesterday and you guys inspired me to keep going, I was completely not in the mood and tried to talk myself out of it numerous times but I thought of my D-Cot running friends and kept going and actually did almost 4 miles ! Thanks you guys for the inspiration
