@rocketear99 That’s pretty cool! All of our local VBS are in the day like 9am-2pm. We have a different lifestyle over here it seems, everything assumes women don’t work: VBS, women’s fitness groups, women’s Bible studies… it’s a shame, I miss out on all of it. Great job on the new PB!
@eeyorepoohfan Nice work!!!June 23, 2018 at 1:42 pm #80696I’m behind again…
Thursday I ran another endurance run before work. It was in the upper 70s with 92% humidity (of course) and I couldn’t hack it. I took 4 or 5 walk breaks, I can’t remember how many now, but they were around 30-45 seconds each time. I ran alone because I wanted to see if I did any better without Leia. I actually did worse. I was really mad at myself for walking, and I blamed the humidity, but afterwards I realized it probably wasn’t that.
Total Time: 33:54
Total Distance: 3.00
Pace: 11’15”I may be leaving for basic within the next 60 days (but as of right now I am NOT leaving anytime soon) so this week I planned to take my training up a notch just in case. I would feel a lot better shipping out knowing my 1.5 mile time was already at a passing standard. I am currently 30 seconds too slow to meet the bare minimum passing time, but I would like to be 1 minute faster so that I am at a comfortable pass standard when I leave. That way I wouldn’t have to worry about shaving 1 minute off my time in just 6 weeks. I know how I would train to achieve that but I don’t know what they’ll have me do down there.
So Thursday’s run was my second endurance run of the week and my 4th consecutive day of running. Well after I got done I was having pain down the inside of the bone in my calf. I stretched and figured it would go away, maybe this was from running 4 consecutive days. Well it didn’t go away. It’s now Saturday and it still hurts. I didn’t do any further exercise on Thursday, I didn’t run yesterday and I didn’t go on the evening hike I’d paid for, and it’s still hurting just as bad all the time – if I’m sitting, standing, walking, whatever, the pain is there. I am seeing the doctor on Monday and I’m pretty confident I have shin splints/a stress fracture. I keep crying whenever I think about it because with my awful luck, my dates will come in and I’ll be injured, which means going anyway and pretending I’m not hurt, or admitting that I am hurt and risking a discharge before I’ve even started.
I am so infuriated! If they didn’t leave me hanging in maybeland, I wouldn’t have pushed so hard and gotten hurt. They may delay my training if I’m hurt, but since they will fail to meet their target if they do that, I could see them discharging me instead because that removes me from their stats. I guess I will see what happens at the doc on Monday, but for now I’m benching myself until further notice

missingWDW183 XPQuestion…
If my runs are always 97…98…99…100% humidity, why the hell am I still in jersey?! I might as well move to Florida!

Thanks pal!
June 23, 2018 at 4:56 pm #80704@eeyorepoohfan Thank you, I think I need all the prayers I can get right now
June 23, 2018 at 4:58 pm #80705@missingWDW YOU SAID IT! I almost have the same problem here. I run in the mornings because it’s 20* cooler but the humidity is always in the 90s! By the evening the humidity drops to around 60% but then the temperatures are in the upper 90s. Can’t win

missingWDW183 XP@starbee, I haven’t been on here much, but when I am it seems it’s the same for many of us!
June 23, 2018 at 8:32 pm #80708@eeyorepoohfan, I’m so glad you were finally able to get back out there! I’m so proud of you! You are amazing and awesome to be able to do that with your legs tight and lungs confused!
June 23, 2018 at 8:36 pm #80709@starbee I’m so sorry it isn’t feeling any better! You still had a fantastic pace. I’m hoping and praying you get some good news from the doctor on Monday.
Side note, you do live in a different area. I’ve never known a VBS to be anything but in the evenings around here so that families can attend.June 23, 2018 at 8:37 pm #80710@missingwdw let’s go!

bexruns374 XPHi all!
So as of today I am 11 days post op from my hysterectomy. Obviously that means I haven’t run in almost 2 weeks
I have a note into my doctor to see when I can start with some ligh jogging and slowly move up. Next appt is end of July.
I’m doing a July 4th 5K with my daughter and friend and if I’m not cleared for a jog then I’ll be walking the whole thing. PR for slowest 5K!
Hope you’re all doing well!June 24, 2018 at 8:16 am #80726
missingWDW183 XP@bexruns hope you’re feeling well and healing quick so you can get back out there! Even walking that 5K would be quite something considering what you just went through.
Good luck!!!!!
