@nascfan Yes!! All the foods for this trip!!!! Then it will be buckle down and focus on my health again! I’m so glad you and Lauren both have nice neighborhoods to walk around!!!
April 9, 2018 at 1:25 pm #72744@RIDisneyPinGuy Yep, it stinks! I can’t even cover my face in the cold running temps! I just feel like I’m going to overheat and suffocate with anything over my face. We will probably have a couple more months of this too! It’s bad this year! We didn’t have a true winter, so nothing really went dormant. So it seems that we have an abundance of pollen this spring. Everyone is town is miserable! Even people that don’t typically have allergy problems!
April 9, 2018 at 1:27 pm #72745@RIDisneyPinGuy That’s a valid excuse for not running yesterday! Keep staying safe while fighting those fires! I’m not surprised you are sore from that!
April 9, 2018 at 1:30 pm #72746@bexruns It looks like you had fun! Great medal too!!! No worries on your pace! Mine has been so slow compared to what I used to run! Maybe it’s something with this season? Remember, not every run is going to be great and awesome! But you got out there and ran your race!
April 9, 2018 at 8:31 pm #72774@RIDisneyPinGuy Wow! That was definitely a workout! Thank you for all you do!
@nascfan @eeyorepoohfan Thanks pals the race isn’t local, it’s an hour and a half away which initially put me off. But my friend encouraging me, the good cause it supports, and the amazing medal they keep showing off, pushed me to sign up but I may regret this
@bexruns You had a good time and that’s what matters most! I totally understand your frustrations though. I did great on a 5K in December when I thought I’d do badly, so then I was pumped to do just as good on a 5K in January and I did worse so I was really disappointed. It happensApril 10, 2018 at 7:24 am #72788Morning all!
Busy week, took Abby to the Dr yesterday for her meds infusion. It’s amazing how fast she recovers afterwards. Before going in she is very lethargic and extremely pale, and by last night she had color back in her cheeks and was bouncing around. Now I have to make some of the time I took off yesterday. Was able to get 5 hours in working from home before and after the visit.
Need to get at least 1 run in this week depending on work schedule. I have a 5k on Saturday and a half on Sunday. I will try to periscope some of the Half, part of it goes around the Wright Brothers memorial in Kitty Hawk.
April 10, 2018 at 9:47 am #72811@10dedfish first and most important, I’m so glad Abby is responding well to the meds! That has got to be a huge load off your mind!
Second, my absolute best to you for this weekend! We’ll be in the air Sunday morning so I’ll miss your half but I will be cheering you from the plane!April 10, 2018 at 12:06 pm #72832@10dedfish Happy to hear Abby’s meds help her.
Good luck this weekend!April 10, 2018 at 12:09 pm #72833@starbee one foot in front of the other for that 10K! So exciting! Good luck!!
April 10, 2018 at 12:10 pm #72834@bexruns nice medal
I need some bling!
April 10, 2018 at 12:13 pm #72837Felt like I was running in place this morning. It was like I was running up with each step instead of pushing forward. Just felt wrong and outta sorts.
3 miles
10:41/mile
Weather is finally going to warm up by Thursday. CAN’T WAIT!!April 10, 2018 at 12:26 pm #72843@missingwdw your struggle days are so much faster than I can ever dream!
But not discounting how you felt, you did great! Struggle days are tough on ourselves but you were out there and you did it. You should be proud of yourself, I know I am of you! I’m so ready for warmer temps too! We’re hoping to get outside Thursday after work with the kids!April 10, 2018 at 6:46 pm #72909@nascfan my pace doesn’t bother me at all! I’ve had my strongest runs pacing 10:30-10:40/mile. This just wasn’t a strong run. Hate that feeling of struggling.
But, yes, I was out there and got ‘er done! Even the struggles feel like an accomplishment!
April 11, 2018 at 8:54 am #72949I opted to break from my usual routine of paced workouts to just do a 1-mile distance run after work yesterday. Temps were in the upper 40s, but trying to run a straight mile up and down a hill on grass and trail was freaking HARD!!! Mostly it was hard on my respiratory system…like the whole thing! Heaving that cold air caused some lung discomfort which I still have this morning and my teeth were in great pain too. Despite all that I ALMOST ran the whole thing. In my last quarter mile I had to walk for about 30 seconds because it felt like my chest was about to burst (think Alien).
For my 1 mile run I finished at 9:56 which ties my last 1-mile trail run, but compared to my 8:41/mile pace in the 50s over flat and paved neighborhood roads in South Jersey, you can see how much a difference temperature and terrain makes.
April 11, 2018 at 8:57 am #72950@rocketear99 wow! Great, great job! Weather and terrain makes all the difference! You did awesome!
