missingWDW183 XPAnnnnd I’m so glad I got my second run in this week before this snowstorm hits! The weather forecasts have been all over the place, but it’s looking like somewhere around 12″ is headed our way.
Enough already. I mean seriously. Elsa can kiss myMarch 20, 2018 at 3:12 pm #70282
@missingwdw I can’t tell you how glad I am that you are not pushing it too hard! You are doing great, you are being smart, you are ((gasp)) being adult!
Seriously, just a great job on your run! I am impressed and proud of you!
And can just go take a flying leap! Geez Louise!March 20, 2018 at 8:02 pm #70306@missingWDW I’m so glad your leg is feeling better!! That rest is exactly what you needed!!!! I’m sorry you are on the fence about your shoes for running. But I’m glad they will work for teaching! Have you tried different socks to see if that makes a difference? We where the Experia socks and they have extra cushion in the toes and the heals. So it helps me fill out my toe box better! Yes, many chiropractors work on feet!!! Not all though. So you will have to call around to see which ones by you work on feet. Ryan works on them all the time! It definitely could be a fallen arch or bone in your foot causing the pain. Ryan used to have to work on my feet constantly. Once we started using custom orthotics that give me good support and cushion, he doesn’t have to work on them nearly as often! There is always a break in period with new shoes as well. So it might be the culprit until you get them fully broken in.
March 20, 2018 at 8:06 pm #70307Well, I’ll start by saying I ran my 5K for the virtual Pixie Challenge yesterday afternoon. I’m one of those people that will not run in any weather (particularly cold and wet….which it has been around here for months). I didn’t do too bad. I completed in 45:02.
I also was invited to do the Food & Wine Half. I really wanted to do it even though I was worried about pace. However, I know if I have a friend or rabbit, I’m usually good to go. My goodness, the registration fee floored me! I didn’t know the RunDisney races were that much. And I will have the toddler (who just turned 2), so it won’t work out anyway. But I am planning to go that weekend, indulge on F&W Festival kiosks, and cheer on my friends running the half.
Hope you all had a good day yesterday before this new round of snow hits.
Great job on completing your virtual 5k!!!! I hear you on not wanting to run in non-ideal weather. Way to go on getting out there and getting it done! Yes, RunDisney races are pricey, but they really are worth the cost!! They do such an amazing even. Lots of characters on course, entertainment, water stops, medals, shirts, support staff, etc! I did a local race once and will never do one again! They had 4 water stops for a half marathon and it tasted like horrible hose water. I couldn’t even swallow it! Good thing I run with my own bottle with electrolytes. You are really paying for the Disney experience at a RunDisney event. Now that you know the price, maybe you can keep it in mind for the future though!
March 20, 2018 at 8:10 pm #70308@bexruns Oh my goodness! Those bathroom stops can take forever when people don’t hustle in there!! I am thankful that I don’t typically need to use the restroom during a race. But when I do need to, I try to wait for a shorter line! During the full marathon, I needed to go pee at Magic Kingdom. Every bathroom in the park that I passed had lines out the doors! I came around after the Beauty and the Beast area and looked around the corner to the bathroom and there was no line! I took off for it and went right into a stall! Apparently everyone followed me because when I came out of my stall, there was a long line and I was only in there for 1 minute!! But I’m like you, what the heck are these people doing in there! Get in, go, get out! Hustle!!
March 20, 2018 at 8:12 pm #70309@missingWDW Great job on getting your second run in for the week before the snow storm hits!!! I really hope that this is your final storm and spring comes your way quickly!!
March 20, 2018 at 8:15 pm #70314Got in a 4 miler. Spring is in full bloom and it’s trying to kill me slowly. I feel like I got punched in the face during my run. I fought hard to keep on pace. But I got it done! I wore my Dark Side Half Marathon shirt from last year as my inspiration! Just 33 days until the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon at WDW!
March 20, 2018 at 9:20 pm #70317@eeyorepoohfan you did great!!! I hate those stupid allergies and pollen. I am so proud of you and your pace today! Great shirt, the Force was with you! Awesome job!

missingWDW183 XPThinking of doing the Disney virtual running shorts
Hmmmmm
March 21, 2018 at 12:02 pm #70364@missingwdw Kathy and I are toying with it too!
March 21, 2018 at 12:56 pm #70372@missingWDW Your weather is not even funny! Time to move girl
@missingWDW @nascfan I did the full Virtual Running Shorts series last year, so ask me any questions you may have! I think I’ll pass this year because I don’t like the medalsMarch 21, 2018 at 12:59 pm #70375@missingWDW I think the chiro will help. Thanks I always second guess my choice in running shoes and I was undecided on my most recent pair I purchased. They felt really tight across my instep at first but I think it just felt tighter after how much my old shoes had worn down! Definitely give yourself a chance to break them in fully but if they still aren’t right, change them.
March 21, 2018 at 8:06 pm #70416@nasfcan Thank you!! Yes, STUPID pollen is right!!!!!
March 21, 2018 at 8:07 pm #70417@missingWDW and @nascfan Do it!! You get cool medals!
March 22, 2018 at 7:01 am #70431We got in a quick 2.1 mile session at the track last night. We purposely kept it to about 2/3 of a 5k for a few reasons, 1. evenings are tougher. We’re tired from long busy days at work so to go longer just wears us out more without much benefit and 2. it’s a lot more crowded there in the evenings than on Sunday mornings. Tougher to maintain a good pace with all different speeds of people all over. But I think we did well, we were just seconds over a half hour for a 14:27 pace. And we went out quick with our first mile being faster. Anytime we can maintain under 14 1/2 for an evening session, I’m happy.
