@bexruns Congratulations on finishing your 4th LA Marathon!!!!! That is simply amazing!!!!! Way to go!! I’m sorry you were dealing with knee pain and that hamstring. I could see some rough stretches on your check-ins, but then you managed to pick up the pace too! I rocked out the end of that race! I think your finish time was simply amazing!!! And you may be slightly insane for already being ready to run it again!! I’m so stinking proud of you!!!!!!!!!!
March 19, 2018 at 7:32 pm #70197March 19, 2018 at 7:36 pm #70198@bexruns you more than survived I’d say! We think you did totally awesome! And having issues with our knee, that makes it even more amazing! You really are a total rock star and we are so proud of you!
March 19, 2018 at 8:01 pm #70199@eeyorepoohfan Makes total sense but I was a Dumbo and didn’t think about that! I didn’t get my adjustment today, I woke up at 2am with severe abdominal pain and cramps. It hurt to lie down and sit up. Then this morning I started throwing up and that continued into this afternoon. I went to the doctor and he thinks it’s gastritis which I had when I was 18 and this does feel the exact same. I called the chiro to reschedule and the receptionist was like “We do encourage you to still get an adjustment even if you’re sick, so long as you’re not throwing up or have diarrhea, because it boosts the immune system”. I told her that unfortunately I had both those things hopefully she doesn’t think I’m making that up and being super flaky. I’ve rescheduled it to Thursday to make sure I’m over it and don’t have to reschedule a second time.
March 19, 2018 at 8:04 pm #70200@bexruns Girl, you’re amazing! 4 marathons is incredible and I bet it was a hot day too! Way to go on finishing despite your pain, and on not letting your time get to you. I’m sorry to hear about your knee and hamstring issues how exciting that you’re already planning the next!
March 19, 2018 at 8:08 pm #70202@starbee Sometimes we don’t think of the obvious!! I am so so sorry you came down with the GI issue!! That really sucks!!!! I’m glad you were able to reschedule for Thursday. You should be over the bug by then for sure. And yes, adjustments do boost your immune system but never want people in with your symptoms! It spreads way to easily! But we also ask all contagious illness people to stay home and not come in as well. I’m sure they don’t think you are making it up. Most people won’t lie about having those symptoms. Feel better!! Lots of rest and fluids when you can!!!! Praying you feel better quickly!!!!
March 19, 2018 at 8:38 pm #70203March 20, 2018 at 8:53 am #70236Well, I’ll start by saying I ran my 5K for the virtual Pixie Challenge yesterday afternoon. I’m one of those people that will not run in any weather (particularly cold and wet….which it has been around here for months). I didn’t do too bad. I completed in 45:02.
I also was invited to do the Food & Wine Half. I really wanted to do it even though I was worried about pace. However, I know if I have a friend or rabbit, I’m usually good to go. My goodness, the registration fee floored me! I didn’t know the RunDisney races were that much. And I will have the toddler (who just turned 2), so it won’t work out anyway. But I am planning to go that weekend, indulge on F&W Festival kiosks, and cheer on my friends running the half.
Hope you all had a good day yesterday before this new round of snow hits.
March 20, 2018 at 8:58 am #70237Awesome job @figmentchick! I think we could pace together! You did absolutely great! We can’t be outside in the winter here either. Sure hope it breaks soon so we can get out there again instead of seeing the same walls.
It’s too bad it won’t work out for you to race but I know they will be very happy to have you cheering them on!March 20, 2018 at 10:43 am #70254

The longer stretches for the check ins honestly was bathroom stops. At one point at the very first one me and like 5 other people were getting really irritated because people were taking FOREVER. You know we are ALL running a marathon right now, right? Wrap it up!

missingWDW183 XP@eeyorepoohfan my leg has been feeling great!!!
My shoes??? Hmmmm. I’m undecided about them.
I’m starting to think I should have gotten the acsis instead. Even though the ghost 10’s feel narrower than the 9’s I was in, I am starting to think the are a bit too wide still around my toes. I may go back and get the acsis
Then I can just wear the brooks to teach in. They are way more supportive than the nikes I recently bought for teaching, so it would be a win win!
Question for ya, can you get your foot adjusted???? For years, whenever I wear flats and go up and down stairs I get a nerve pain on the bottom of my foot below my toes. I always just put up with it because it wasn’t a big deal, but now I am starting to feel it when I run. Not sure if it’s the new sneakers or if it’s just getting worse. Anyway, didn’t know if I should go to the chiropractor.

Completing a 5K is my next goal!!!March 20, 2018 at 12:38 pm #70269
missingWDW183 XPGot my second run of the week completed this morning and purposely slowed down for this one. What a fantastic run!
I was disappointed when I hit the 2.25 mark and had to stop. I felt like I could have run another mile, but I knew I shouldn’t
It was so tough making myself stop.
I’m going to make an effort to keep my pace around the 10:30 mark as I add distance on over the next few weeks. It’s my happy place
2.25 miles
10:35/mile
