Christy and I did a paced workout on Thursday and a 1-mile “run” on Saturday. I was off Friday and had an otherwise busy/fun weekend, so I didn’t get a chance to post my results until today. We ran the same path, but at different paces, so I’m not sure what Christy’s numbers were. Here are mine:
Thursday
Distance: 2.45 miles
Time: 0:30:00
Pace: 12:16/mileSaturday
Distance: 1.00 mile
Time: 0:09:56
Pace: 9:56/mileThe run on Saturday my goal was to try to run the whole mile, but with the hilly terrain and heaving in the cold air, my lungs weren’t going to have it. I walked 4 times for an estimated total of about 90 seconds just so my lungs could catch up. I’ll try to do another 1-miler this weekend without walking but conditions won’t be much better. GO AWAY WINTER!!!! Anyway, 9:56 still ties my fastest pace since I started running in July of last year.
March 19, 2018 at 11:20 am #70019Thank you @rocketear99! That truly means a lot to me!
Awesome job late last week and the weekend! Goodness winter does just need to take a hike! So proud of you tying your best! Imagine how this summer is going to be now!March 19, 2018 at 12:38 pm #70023

Thanks! Maintaining that pace is a pipe dream as I increase my miles
But that’s not my goal. I just want to get back to averaging 5 miles on my runs. That distance just felt so good to run, and it did wonders for clearing my head. I don’t care what my pace is, really. Especially now! If slowing down keeps me injury free, I’m all for it!

missingWDW183 XP@rocketear99 nice workout and really nice 1 mile run! I agree, the winter needs to go away. These wicked gale force winds all during the month of March NEED TO STOP!!!!! March is definitely roaring in like a lion! I loved running in the colder temps earlier in the winter, because the air was soooo still. Yeah. Those days are gone. Lol
BTW I’ve been looking into 5K’s here. Is your family closer to AC?March 19, 2018 at 12:45 pm #70073
missingWDW183 XP@nascfan WTHeck are talking about not posting about your training!!!!!
For the love of god man! We’re all family here!
POST!!!March 19, 2018 at 1:47 pm #70158@missingWDW Thanks! Yeah it’s that blasted wind that really needs to stop more than anything
Our family is really kind of all over the state, but we try to limit our trips to the family in far north Jersey (some near Paramus, some near Hackettstown) mostly because of the traffic We have family in Manchester and in Little Egg Harbor and don’t have any issues visiting either of those places. So to answer your question more directly, yes we have family relatively close to AC, but also elsewhere.
March 19, 2018 at 2:13 pm #70159@missingwdw yea ma’am! Thank you, I will do that!
March 19, 2018 at 3:08 pm #70162@nascfan Awesome! Well aside from the big breakfast, but now you know! Go ahead and share! I’m not doing sub 10 minute miles either
@rocketear99 Thanks! Yes so far I haven’t used any vacation yet this year because I didn’t know what my plans would be in terms of training, maybe a vacation and my parents coming to town. There may be a staycation in my futureMarch 19, 2018 at 3:19 pm #70163@rocketear99 Great times! So the walking is not ideal but you did what you could, you got out there, and you still got a great time! I’m with you, winter’s got to go – NOW!
March 19, 2018 at 3:23 pm #70164@eeyorepoohfan Oh yeah, I forgot about just getting an adjustment too I don’t like running in the heat! The temps did jump real quick but they’re back down now.

missingWDW183 XP@rocketear99 Now that you mention north jersey I remember you telling me once about avoiding the Paramus visits.
I get it. Traffic.
Little Egg Harbor is about 40 mins south of me. Maybe we can figure something out
March 19, 2018 at 6:03 pm #70182@RocketEAR99 Wow!!! Those were great runs you got in!!! I really hope your winter ends soon so that you can get out and run in more favorable conditions all the time! Your pace looked fantastic on both run!! You were super speedy even with 4 walk breaks on your one miler!! Great job!
March 19, 2018 at 6:06 pm #70183@missingWDW I hear you on pacing!!! I can keep a great pace on my short runs, but unfortunately most of us slow down the farther we go! I like your goal to getting back to your 5 mile runs! How is the leg holding up? Still feeling good? And your new shoes, are they working for you?
March 19, 2018 at 6:07 pm #70185@starbee Yes! Getting adjustments makes a difference in your running! And you were still sore from it! I hope your adjustment went well today!

bexruns374 XPSo I survived my 4th LA Marathon!
My time was not what I wanted, but I’m not upset about it in any way. I was on track for my projected time until about mile 15-16 when the back of my knee started to have some pretty bad pain. (after reading up on it today, it could be from my hamstring which has given me grief for a while and obviously the longer distance just aggravated it more). I managed to push through and finish strong though (I was trucking it down the last .75!) so I can’t be mad about that.
2019 is already on the books for March 24 and you better bet that as soon as registration opens, I am IN.
