A New and Wild Ride Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is supposedly getting a new E-Ticket Attraction, but the location is unknown. This has led to speculation including Zootopia, Pandora – The World of Avatar, and Dinoland.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for having some pretty wild rides. In this park, you can fly on the back of a banshee, travel back in time and even face the Yeti. To add to this, there are several shows to grab your eye and animals around every corner. Still, some people see this park as a half day, many even comparing it to a zoo (it’s not, I will fight you on this). So how can Disney keep guests coming back to the park and captivate them with a magical experience unlike any other? With a new E-ticket attraction, of course! Rumor has it that Disney has already green-lit a new E-ticket for the park to be completed in 2024, but there’s no other clues which has led to plenty of speculation.

Some will be quick to tie this in to a possible Zootopia-themed land. Rumors have been prevalent here since the movie came out, but it’s unsure where it would go. Most are pointing to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, but a tiny few are pointing to Dinoland U.S.A. Shanghai Disneyland is getting a Zootopia Land with an E-ticket attraction and could possibly serve as a model for another land.

When Pandora – The World of Avatar opened up back in 2017, one complaint that was brought up a lot was the land’s size. Many thought it was too small of a land and needed more room. Lucky for them, there is supposedly room for a Pandora expansion. The expansion plots could be used for another E-ticket that could tie-in to the Avatar sequel currently in the works and a sit-down restaurant.

Of course, we can’t talk rumors of Animal Kingdom without bringing up Dinoland. There have been talks of an E-ticket attraction coming to the land for a while, many of which were discussed in a previous article, It’s the End of Dinoland as We Know It. Some believe this new E-ticket will be the boat ride rumored to replace Finding Nemo – The Musical, others citing the excavator roller coaster originally planned for the land. The excavator seems more likely now since it would go where Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama is and the major attraction there, Primeval Whirl, has been closed since June (with a few days exception) and was declared Seasonal.
Whatever it may be, something wild is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

  1. Will be exciting to see what happens! I loved the back story to Dinoland but it’s looking kinda frayed around the edges lately.
    Thanks for the story!! :minnie:

  2. Zootopia would be cool and a great fit. Dinoland needs some love…I’ve never cared for Primeval Whirl as it feels like a “Quick we need a ride! That traveling carnival is selling an old ride…buy it and put up some new signs!” I do not want them to get rid of the land…Dinosaur and Restaurantosaurus are too good to let them go. I just want it to be amped up a little…a new rollercoaster would bring some life. Unfortunately my bet is on expanding Pandora…

    • Dinoland got….some love, but not much. They shoved Donald in there and roped off more than half the seats in Restauarantosaurus. -____- In a sense, that’s what Primeval Whirl is. This is the only version I’ve seen spin though.

  3. I awaited with B8’ed breath LOL

  4. Catching up on articles I missed…

They should probably use the space where Primeval Whirl is if they’re just going to have it sit there collecting dust. I like that ride but it’s pointless to have it and not use it. As others have said, I don’t want Dinoland as a whole gone. Zootopia would seriously be awesome! An Up ride would be pretty good too.

    • I have no idea how an Up ride would work or where it would be placed, but Animal Kingdom definitely feels like the right place for it

      • I was thinking something similar to the Monsters Inc. ride in California

        • Maybe. Or perhaps a suspended system like Peter Pan’s Flight?

          • I didn’t think of that! That would be awesome too! :balloon:
