Ive always called Rope Drop, the Cattle Call. The only thing missing for me is the Mooing.
It wouldnt be so bad if people were not so rude and inconsiderate. Disney cannot control that but the process invites the behavior
February 9, 2017 at 10:57 am #12328I agree but how would you change it?
February 9, 2017 at 10:58 am #12329Not sure one can. You cannot change human nature. The only thing would be to eliminate it. There are those who love it. Im not a fan, buy that alone isnt enough for me to expect them to institute a change. I dont have to go, so I dont
February 9, 2017 at 11:07 am #12332We’ve done the rope-a-dope thing a few times and decided that another 15 minutes isn’t going to make much of a difference.
I will never be a sheep and will never be herded. My kids and I have been known to “baaaahhhh bahhhhh” when stuck in herding situations at WDW.
Love being a Type X!
February 9, 2017 at 11:13 am #12333Here’s my Disney Unpopular opinion: I don’t get buying a park hopper (or in my case an AP) ticket and not being able to hop your fast passes. It drives me mad! They charge you extra, but you can’t use it to your fullest. If I were buying a hopper option and couldn’t use it fully, I would be nuts! (actually, I wouldn’t buy it). As it is, I am the family’s key to Tables in Wonderland and since I go for 6 days alone in October, it works for me to have the AP.
February 9, 2017 at 11:22 am #12336I totally agree with that. If you pay for the hopper then your FP+ should accommodate a change in parks.
Obviously, you would have to relinquish any unused FPs
We always get the hoppers so we can end up at WS most nights.
We usually stay at EPCOT hotels and it’s a nice walk back to your room at night.
February 9, 2017 at 11:36 am #12339My Opinion Unpopular or otherwise:
Disneyworld should use a Penalty card system like they do in Soccer. If a CM sees someone acting rudely or cutting in quueueeueueueueueu then they would approach and confront the guest. At that point they could hold up a big yellow mickey ears card and blow a whistle to get everyone’s attention. The CM would then explain, in a loud voice, why such rude behavior will not be tolerated in the world. The CM will then scan the Magic band of the offender and let them know that one more violation will result in a RED card and subsequent expulsion from the parks for the rest of that day AND an additional one day penalty. The additional penalty day may be reduced to a 1/2 day if they agree to help assist handicapped quests for 4 hours during that day. Any questions must be submitted in writing.
February 9, 2017 at 12:41 pm #12360Wow I had no idea you can’t do that at WDW. Our FP here are still paper and if I get one in DL, I can also get one in DCA.
@Figment I do not disagree with you. I know in the end, it all goes back to parenting but omg. Kids just seem to be more awful nowadaysFebruary 9, 2017 at 1:11 pm #12370@ Figment: Or they must say something nice to someone in an ECV instead of swearing at them…or better still the 1/2 day they get, they need to spend with someone in an ECV so they can hear the “stuff” we hear all day.
February 9, 2017 at 3:40 pm #12403And if a guest ever swears or yells at a CM, they will get an automatic Black card and will be banned for infinity and beyond.

Great Idea
February 13, 2017 at 6:28 pm #13270Okay another unpopular Disney opinion, I don’t get the hype about Be Our Guest! Yes I have experienced this place 3 times since it has opened but I don’t get it….i feel that it is very crowded feeling in there and the food is okay. Of course, if I find a reservation I will snatch it but it isn’t one of my ‘must do’s’ or ‘go to’s’ when planning out vacation.

I get the reasoning here, however, we always do park hopper. it’s such a kick in the gut because for our family upgrading to a park hopper is the cost of another ticket. We just flat out enjoy the freedom to float when we want to. If a park gets busy we bounce like Tigger and go straight to another park or back to the hotel for a dip or a nap and then to another park. It’s just a convenience factor that we enjoy. Also, if we have a dining reservation in a park we aren’t limited to that park for the day. All this being said, every trip I try to talk myself out of the park hoppers!!! lol
