Here’s my latest unpopular opinion… I have no hope for the Solo movie. Most likely going to skip that one.

I’m not sure this is an unpopular opinion. I think there are a lot of us who feel this way. Some things are better left to the imagination.

Okay good because I feel like the only one! I’m a big Star Wars fan but that doesn’t mean you can slap that title on anything and I’ll like it. There’s only one Han Solo

So true!
March 12, 2018 at 12:06 am #69200Disney has overplayed the Star Wars card. Not planning to see Solo
March 12, 2018 at 1:39 pm #69257I am torn on this topic. Not Star Wars specifically, but the absorption of popular franchises. Goodness knows I love the Disney Product, but is it really a good thing to have all successful franchises get absorbed?
One thing you get from Disney is the are not chincy with the funds necessary to bring the franchise to life.
I also do not like the awarding of High Level Disney Honors to people of those franchises simply because Disney absorbed them. Case in point being awarded Disney Legends. While I agree the 3 are legends, they are not Disney legends, they are Star Wars legends. There was an outpouring to make Leia a Disney Princess. NO!
Star Wars and Disney are not synonymous. Just being bought by the Megacorp doesn’t not entitle this level of recognition, no matter how historical the franchise was before Disney bought it.

I agree with this. For example, when a talking head retires from ESPN, they shouldn’t be a Disney Legend. They should be honored for being a legend at ESPN, which happens to be owned by Disney.

Definitely agree with this. I like having the Star Wars attractions in the parks but I think they need to be kept separate from all other things Disney. Disney does not equal Star Wars and vice versa.
March 13, 2018 at 2:14 pm #69396I love Star Wars, and I will continue to see every movie. Buuuuutt having said that, it has gotten to the point of telling “too much”. We don’t need to have every back story….
An unpopular opinion I have is that there isn’t much shade in the parks. My son has Down syndrome and a heart condition. He cannot regulate his body temps as well as most and therefore he needs to be shaded from the heat. We rent a special needs stroller (he’s 7) which has an umbrella and we bring a portable AC unit (found on Amazon!). But shade would be so helpful. We end up trying to cram under a spot of shade just big enough for a person or two just for a little reprieve. I wish there were more shady spots….

As someone who breathes Star Wars, I completely agree. I liked the excitement building up for ep 7 because it had been YEARS since a SW movie. But now its like once a year and our parks are becoming overly saturated with SW eeeeverywhere. Enough!
March 24, 2018 at 11:12 am #70740Unpopular opinion… I wish Disney never took over Marvel. I DON’T CARE about superheroes/superhero movies. I just don’t think Disney & Iron Man or whoever go together
March 24, 2018 at 11:46 am #70745You know what @julia, my wife and I pretty much agree with you. In my opinion it’s a different genre than what Disney is, at least to me.

I agree. I feel there is an over-saturation of other intellectual properties that have been absorbed, that Disney has lost touch with their own product, and are gutting what made the company, the parks, and resorts/dining/shopping/etc. so magical to begin with. They are taking the quick road, which I feel (fear) will lead to an even faster rate of things going stale, and possibly the demise.
March 24, 2018 at 12:59 pm #70754@Nascfan yes exactly!! disney’s all about magic and music and fantasy! it just doesn’t make sense
March 31, 2018 at 2:06 am #71489I don’t like how Disney shoehorns one adult joke in just to get the PG rating. There’s nothing wrong with G
