March 31, 2019 at 7:42 pm #106342Almost took a whole week off running by accident. My last run was Monday I planned on running Monday, Wednesday, Friday this past week but went too hard at the gym Tuesday and was too sore to run Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday we had storms, and Saturday we were out of town all day. Oops. But I got out there today finally
It was 50* but the 10 mph wind chill took it down to 46*. The sun helped a lot! Leia and I went to the trail and had a good time. She needed to go out after being cooped up at home for a week.
Distance: 4.00 miles
Time: 44:39
Pace: 11’08”No negative splits today but I was quicker than my last 4 mile run! My plan is to run again on Tuesday and Friday this week before drill over the weekend.
March 31, 2019 at 8:06 pm #106343Wow! Great, great job @starbee! That was an awesome run! That speed, wow! I’m so proud of you! Just fantastic! I’ll bet Leia had fun!
April 1, 2019 at 8:50 am #106373@starbee Nice 4 miles you did there! Glad you were finally able to do it and that you improved your time!
April 1, 2019 at 8:58 am #106376@nascfan Thanks! I thought we were going to have to stop early after 3 miles because Leia started getting super distracted and kept stopping. But I was able to re-direct her and make it that last mile I think the longer it is between her getting out, the more distracted she gets when she’s finally out there lol.
@rocketear99 Thanks! I wasn’t aiming to improve my time but that was a nice surprise! Dopey training starts right after my 10kApril 1, 2019 at 9:06 am #106380@starbee Sounds great! As of completing our 7 mile run, we’re pretty much 10K ready when that rolls around May 11th. We’ll be working toward our goals for ½ Marathon next :)
April 1, 2019 at 9:11 am #106384@rocketear99 You are! That’s so awesome to be prepared that early! I have a half coming up. I haven’t registered yet because I’m scared of commitment and I want to see how this 10k goes but I think the Dopey training will get me there
April 1, 2019 at 10:38 am #106411Just got myself all signed up for my next race on April 27 and for the Disney Virtual 5K Challenge for June-Aug.
April 1, 2019 at 10:43 am #106414That’s wonderful @connie96! I’m so proud of you! You’re doing great!
April 1, 2019 at 10:53 am #106416@nascfan Thanks! I also have a couple races in my sights for May but I haven’t decided which one to do yet. Gotta get my daughter’s bday plans at least partly solidified first so I know which weekend is open for racing. For one of them, early registration ends this coming weekend so I’ll have to see what I can do before then.
April 4, 2019 at 10:48 am #106702Forgot to post Monday’s run!
4 miles is now called for twice a week on my plan. I can go to the trails for that like I did on Sunday, but it can get repetitive because it doesn’t have that distance. On Sunday Leia started to get a little bored at the trail so we went somewhere else for Monday’s run. Not nearly as scenic, it’s a running/cycling route that runs alongside a highway, but it goes on forever so we had plenty of distance. We ran for 2 miles, then turned around and ran back for our 4 miles. It was 68* and cloudy with 10 mph winds (all headwind for the first two miles) and hills!!! It was more mentally challenging because of the hills and lack of scenery, but I had D-Cot tunes to get me through.
Time: 43:49
Distance: 4.00 miles
Pace: 10’56”I had to walk through my run ratio twice because the hills were just too steep in places for me to run the whole time without feeling winded. Despite that, and the time we took to cross the street twice, I got a PR on my 4 mile run! with a negative split! But coming back it was mostly downhill, so I guess that was cheating a little I was able to run through one of my walk ratios because of it which helped to make up the time.
5 miler is on the books for Friday
