Ok, I ran yesterday but it WAS NOT pretty. 2 miles at a 9:37 pace. That is not good. Not good at all. Maybe this thread will help me get better!

Been keeping up with my runs. Usually 5 miles every other day. Unless it’s SUPER humid, then it’s 4. And on days I feel fantastic or I just have that eye of the tiger fight, I’ll run 6.
There are so many people running now in my neighborhood. When I started it was only me and occasionally one other person. Love to see everyone out there now! Although I almost gave someone a heart attack this morning when I came running up behind them.
    :surprised:
Sorry neighbor!!!!! Didn’t mean to be all stalker-like and cause you to jump outta your skin! Maybe I should wear bells around my ankles…..
Anyway today was disgusting and humid. So I ran 4.

    It’s all good

@missingWDW Thanks but it’s not good enough to pass a PT test. I have to do 2 miles in 18:42 and that’s after doing push-ups and sit-ups. I have to do better Saturday! I’m gonna go run again this afternoon and try to run the first 1/4 mile in 2 minutes or less. Hopefully less. I find if I do that, I usually run around 16:45-17:15 2 mile. At my age, I don’t complain about that! But, I’d still like to do better.

    @eagle90
Ah. I see. My fastest pace has been 3 miles at 9:15. But that’s not typical for me. I’ll pace now anywhere between 9:45-10:15. Usually. But speed isn’t my goal. I just want to focus on distance. Right now I’d like to be able to consistently run 6 miles. I’m looking forward to the fall and winter seasons. I think I’ll be able to push to that distance then.
    running in the cold
    :)
    Good luck with your training

Got a run in this evening. 2 miles at 9:46 pace but I started off the first 1/4 mile uphill at a pretty good grade. I’ll try a flatter route next time.

I usually run early, but my daughter had a double header an hour away this morning so I got out late. As I was leaving, my son asked if he could join me for the first mile. Sure!!!!
So I had a running partner for the beginning of my run. After the mile, he told me I run too slow.
    LOL
Ok kid. Now you can go away!
Ended up running 4 miles at 9:20/mile.
I really wanted to get a couple more miles in though, so I took about a 3 minute break for some water and then headed out again. Last 2miles were at 9:28/mile.
Just glad I got 6 in today. I’ve been cutting my runs short because of the humidity lately. T
    So today was good

I got some miles in this morning, but man was it painful. Couldn’t find my stride the entire distance. Intermittent rain, high humidity and 15-20 knot winds. Just a suck fest all round.
