The rain FINALLY stopped so I could get out there. Well, it mostly stopped. Drizzled for most of my run, but that’s ok. I enjoyed it
    :)
If only the humidity would have taken a hike. Now that really would have been something!
    Hahaha!
I think @10dedfish and I are in the same weather pattern. 97% humidity for this one. WTFIGMENT. I’m missing those cold winter mornings already!
Still keeping at 4 miles. I just don’t feel like I’m ready to add on any more just yet. Slow and steady, baby
    ;)
Hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend!

@missingwdw well, you’re sure not slow, but steady is great! I’m so proud of you! Great job!

I ran yesterday, begrudgingly. This humidity is seriously killing me! It was 73* and 92% humidity and man it was tough! I ran at the trail for a change of scene, it’s been a while since I got out there, and after 1.5 miles I thought I was going to pass out. Just so oppressive! I ran mostly in the shade, I kept a good pace, and I was well hydrated, but still it was tough. I ended up walking for about 30 seconds after the first 1.5 miles and then ended up walking a lot more on my final mile, I would say 3 or maybe even 4 more times. Never more than like 30 seconds at a time but I was so out of breath I just had to    I need to quit that, it’s the second time in a row that I’ve had to walk. I’m torn between calling it quits when I start walking or just pushing myself to go the distance and take a walk break. By the time I was done I felt like I was going to throw up and pass out, I wanted my hubby to drive the car over to me so I didn’t have to walk another 0.25 miles back to the car :P (but I did). My time wasn’t awful, I’ve done worse when I’ve continued running the whole time, but I’m still annoyed about walking.

    Total Time: 33:58
    Total Distance: 3.00
    Pace: 11’18”

@starbee well, you can take walk breaks or die. I know you don’t want to, I know you won’t be able to in Basic, but please don’t risk injury by not walking. You did great!

Humid this morning, 100% and tennis about 73 or so. @starbee listen to what your body tells you. If you feel like walking drop your pace down till you can catch your breath.

OK, so the first pic is me running this morning with my NOX gear running vest, and the moon over my head. It actually seemed brighter on my phone. LOL

It was crazy bud! It’ll take some time to get used to the summer heat again.

@starbee I understand your pain. It has been ridiculously humid here too and/or wet. I also do better over the long haul with walk breaks than I do without them. After a while, my run slows to a jog and then a shuffle. :P I’m glad you made it through your workout though :) Don’t die prepping for basic! ;)

I took a break from running for a handful of days for two reasons: (1) I was tired of running in the mud because it is so wet here :P (2) I wanted to save my energy for some Friday night basketball last week and I’m so glad I did!

I haven’t played basketball in over 10 years :surprised: And even then, I didn’t enjoy it because I was so out of shape, I’m terrible at the sport, and everyone else seems to get way too competitive. My past experiences and this one were different as night and day! Thanks to all this running, I had really good endurance. We played several rounds of 4-on-4 over the course of 2 1/2 hours. I took down tons of water, but was able to keep going for most of the games. Also I played with a great group of people with various skill-levels and ages. I only scored once out of like 50 attempts, but I had a lot of steals on defense! I was so sore for a few days after though!

Yesterday I got back on the trail for a 30-minute workout. I went 2.48 miles for a pace of 12:05/mile. One of my better paced workouts. The ground wasn’t as muddy as it was last week, but we’re due more rain this week, so Thursday’s run should be interesting.

@starbee Superwoman? Haha! No. Today I ran another 4 in 97% humidity and paced 10:28. Every run is different. Today’s run sucked from the first step to the last. I just never know till I get out there.
But hey, at least we’re out there!!

@missingwdw very true. We’ve all had our trials and tribulations concerning races, paces, and breathing.
