@RocketEAR99 Thank you so much!! I think you are absolutely correct on my body being more than trained from my years of running to knock this half out pretty easily! I think my body can still easily go that distance from all of the training we put in for !
Way to go on your run!! I’m so glad you are able to get outside and run again! It looked like your weekly treadmill run over winter really helped you maintain for sure!!! Way to push through, even when you wanted to quit. Keep at it!!!!!

After this winter, I’ve learned that I’d pretty much run in any weather!
March 14, 2018 at 6:34 pm #69611Did you run down and get an exotic piercing?
Of all the businesses in that little strip mall, the body piercing is the one that shows on the map! You’re not the first person to question me on that
March 14, 2018 at 6:36 pm #69612@eeyorepoohfan Glad you were able to complete your 4 miles. 6 weeks is plenty of time for your legs to get ready for that 1/2 marathon, especially for an experienced runner like yourself!
I concur
March 14, 2018 at 6:40 pm #69614@abeach that’s an awesome run! Glad to hear you’re still feeling good. That gives me hope!
March 14, 2018 at 6:54 pm #69615@missingWDW Aw!! Thank you!!!! I am seriously fully trusting in my running and training over the last 6 years to just carry me through and put me on auto pilot!!
March 14, 2018 at 8:43 pm #69619@rocketear99 great job on your run! Way to stick with it buddy! The hamster wheel did help this winter, even though it’s not fun.
March 15, 2018 at 9:48 am #69654Wow, I’m super behind and there’s no way I can catch up
@eeyorepoohfan @rocketear99 @10dedfish Thanks for all your input! Trying to strike a balance between getting my sprints in but also my longer run each week.Had the first visit with the chiro yesterday, I’m not expecting instant results after one or two sessions, I know it takes time. Yesterday he examined me and took some x-rays. I’m aligned properly where I’m having pain but not so much in my thoracic spine which he said can cause lots of other issues because the nerves are all connected. I’m hopeful he can help, I’m going back today for my first alignment, I’ll keep you posted.
March 15, 2018 at 9:53 am #69655Run update:
I ran Tuesday after work. Since the time change I have been a zombie. I can’t get up to go to work, let alone get up an hour earlier to run beforehand. I usually feel a little tired when I get up early, but this week has been more than that. My eyes are heavy and sore, and I absolutely don’t feel awake, more like I’m dreaming and this isn’t real. Sorry if that’s too deep, it’s the only way I can think to explain it I’ve been having trouble getting to sleep at night and I woke up at 3am and then 4am Tuesday morning so I decided to run after work instead.
It was pleasant, in the 50s I think, sunny, a little windy. Leia and I ran around the neighborhood, which I hate by the way. We’re on a hill so it’s all on an incline which kills my calves and Achilles tendons. Oh and cars were everywhere! We were constantly stopping, some people didn’t even look to see if we were on the sidewalk before reversing out of their driveway. Spotify kept crapping out on me too, it would just keep stopping for no reason – I need my music! But whatever, got it done. 2 min walk/30 minute run.
Total Time: 32:00
Total Distance: 2.75
Total Running Time: 30:00March 15, 2018 at 10:03 am #69657@starbee good luck at the chiro! Hoping he can get you well adjusted so your pain goes away.
I think we’re all feeling that way with the time change. Good job getting out there and doing it Tuesday. I wish drivers would pay more attention! Grrr!
Awesome work, you’re doing great!March 15, 2018 at 1:35 pm #69706@starbee I hope your first adjustment goes well!! And yes, thoracic issues can definitely refer pain elsewhere!! It’s annoying to run in a neighborhood for sure!! So many cars, driveways and cross streets!! It’s up to the runner to be extra careful, unfortunately. People just don’t pay attention!! I’m glad you still got a run in and the weather was good!!! I’m sorry you’ve been such a zombie this week. Time change is so hard! I’m usually okay for the first week, and then a week or two later it just hits me like a ton of bricks and I can’t function!
March 16, 2018 at 10:37 am #69778Started out this morning and my body was like, “Ummmm. Thought we were done with these pre-dawn runs. WTFIGMENT???”
My legs were so fatigued. Maybe the 2 bowls of multigrain Cheerios and the 8 Girl Scout cookies wasn’t the best dinner choice last night. Softball/Baseball season is rough, I tell ya. Damn kids. I’ll have to try a different approach next time
2.15 miles
10:34/ mileMarch 16, 2018 at 10:40 am #69779@missingwdw oh my gosh, you are funny! Great job this morning! Awesome way to push through! Hopefully no pains still.
March 16, 2018 at 2:25 pm #69837@missingWDW You are still doing great considering your time off! Sometimes I have dinners like that too
@eeyorepoohfan @nascfan Thanks! it’s supposedly 80* outside right now, I have no idea, I’m stuck inside without a window, but I plan on running tonight after workMarch 16, 2018 at 2:28 pm #69838Had my first adjustment at the chiro yesterday. He showed me my x-rays and golllllly!!! My spine somewhat resembles a question mark. Basically it’s curving to the left, so the right side is overcompensating and that’s why I’m in pain. Coupled with my thoracic spine not being aligned so that’s impacting my nerves. I’m sore today but doc says I can still run, just not any more frequently than I’m currently doing, not any long distances (more than 3 miles) and stop if it hurts. I go back again Monday and I plan to run tonight since the weather is so nice!
