@eeyorepoohfan this just cracks me up!! What an accomplishment! And what a commitment, too. Hahahaha!!!
Run strong girl!
December 9, 2017 at 10:22 pm #58612@missingWDW It cracked me up so much!! I can’t believe we’ve finished up 24 weeks of training! This has been a long haul for sure! But my 7 miler this morning was awesome!!!! Thank you!
December 10, 2017 at 10:17 pm #58658I took Winnie for a run this morning. It was a frustrating and annoying run. Winnie was all over the place and kept getting stickers in her paws. I kept getting endless texts, messages and alerts too! I just couldn’t focus. I was grumbly. We ran by near our house and did a long hill down then back up. About a 200 foot elevation change. I always pace slower with Winnie girl since she’s not as fast as she used to be. But I was like, yikes girl! ????

December 11, 2017 at 7:33 am #58672The holiday parties need to stop. Felt like crap this morning but went out anyway. Hit 3 and gave up. I need sleep, water, and to feed my body something other than beer and nacho dip. Just sayin.

Me too! Cutting out the crap for the 4 weeks until my first race!
December 11, 2017 at 10:03 am #58697@eeyorepoohfan That’s hysterical! okay, I need to quit whining about my 12 week program when you’re 24 weeks in to marathon training! it feels like such a long time! It wouldn’t be so bad for me if I didn’t have to get up so early in the dark and cold aww look at that precious face! I know what you mean, sometimes Leia slows me down too.
December 11, 2017 at 10:06 am #58698@missingWDW I hear ya! I ate so much pumpkin roll last week here at work, and sugar cookies I need to stick to good eating but I keep thinking “I ran this morning, what’s one cookie” ay yi yi. But you still had a really great pace!
December 11, 2017 at 10:10 am #58699Today started Week 3 Day 1 of my training. I was super tired when I woke up this morning. I got out there braced for the cold and thankfully it felt really comfortable despite being 27*. There was no wind for the first time and that helped so much! Still I had to have my three layers and balaclava. I guess that is 11* warmer than last week. Today’s ratio: 4 min walk/7 min run, three times. That’s 1 minute more of running per set than last week. I was super impressed with my first set! The buzzer went off and I was like “Awesome! I’m done already!” but the next two times I was wishing for it to go off for what felt like a minute or more, but I kept running!
Total Time: 33:00
Total Distance: 2.75 miles
Total Running Time: 21:00December 11, 2017 at 2:26 pm #58731@starbee OMG awesome job pushing yourself to keep running for all 3 sets!!! It sucks when you’re going through it, but feels so good when it’s over and you know you accomplished your goal!
it!December 11, 2017 at 2:28 pm #58732Amendment to my previous post. It wasn’t a food hangover after all. I’m getting sick. I feel lousy. And I’m NOT happy about it.

It can be so challenging this time of year!!! I would normally have been indulging a whole lot more in treats and such by now. But the reality is that we just can’t afford to feel like crap during our training. I will make us some goodies soon. But will keep it in check. I will go full on baking mode right after Dopey for a week or so. Then it will be healthy eating and strict workouts!!! I need to drop the weight we’ve put on with all this training! I’ve been starving due to our mileage and eat like a teenage boy at least half of the week! Technically I’ve started dropping a couple of pounds the last couple of weeks. But I think that’s due to our high miles. Legs are strong but my belly is, um, cushy!!!!
But you still got in 3 miles and did a good pace too!!!!! Keep it up!!
