@msmurphy You can do it!!!! I mean, everything in moderation of course. So don’t absolutely deprive yourself this Christmas season! I can’t wait to meet you!!!!!!
December 11, 2017 at 5:02 pm #58771@eeyorepoohfan That’s hysterical! okay, I need to quit whining about my 12 week program when you’re 24 weeks in to marathon training! it feels like such a long time! It wouldn’t be so bad for me if I didn’t have to get up so early in the dark and cold aww look at that precious face! I know what you mean, sometimes Leia slows me down too.
You can whine all you want about your 12 week plan!! Trust me, I always complained during our half marathon plans that were like 16 weeks. But my mentality had to completely train for . And I’m so thankful it did! I haven’t dreaded too many runs in the last 24 weeks! So I’m beyond thankful for that! You are amazing for getting out in the dark and the cold! With our awesome work schedule, we can actually wait until it warms up a bit before we have to get out and run! My answer otherwise would be a nope! Not gonna happen! Winnie is a sweet girl that’s about to turn 10!! So she does really well. And I haven’t ran her much in the last couple of years. So she rarely runs now, so I’m sure that’s a bit hard on her. She’s very energetic the first mile or so and then usually slows down. But yesterday, I took her on a completely new route so she was weaving and sniffing. But she wouldn’t get onto the sidewalk and kept running in the dirt and plants. So she kept picking up stickers in her paws.

December 11, 2017 at 5:42 pm #58777@starbee I’m so glad your temps felt better than you expected! That’s a huge help!!! Way to go on your run today!!!! I’m glad the first set went really well. That shows that you are really improving. You will get those other sets feeling stronger soon!
December 12, 2017 at 4:49 pm #58916@missingWDW I’m sorry you’re getting sick it feels like everyone around me is sick right now and I can’t afford to be! I have training to get done! It’s hard sometimes to make it through 3 sets, my plan only calls for 2 sets but I feel like I need to push myself to do a third in order to keep up with my plan. You’re right, I’m so proud of myself when I get done! I just hate life at the time
December 12, 2017 at 4:53 pm #58917@eeyorepoohfan Thanks! if I wasn’t in the military I would probably say no too! This is why I wanted to enlist while continuing to work out instead of get in shape first. For all I know it could still be months before I even ship out to basic training. Knowing I could get smoked any drill weekend keeps me accountable. Eventually I will probably end up inside at the gym. I can use their bizarre, curvy 1/7 of a mile track or I can use a treadmill. They just got those a couple weeks ago. But I think running outside is the best form of training so I will stay out there as long as I can, even though I hate the dark and cold. If ever it gets icy I’ll be taking it inside. Bless her heart! my Trixie is just like your Winnie, Trixie turned 10 in August and I think she’s getting arthritis she still runs and is playful but she’s quit jumping on the bed and the couch and let me tell you, those are her two favorite places!

missingWDW183 XP@starbee weather app says it’s going to be 21 tomorrow morning when I run. I considered going out after work tonight instead, as it was 44 at the time. Much better option!
But, as my life would have it, it didn’t work out and really I still am feeling a bit crummy. I was dreading the temps because it’s going to be a bit windy as well, and then I thought “Wait. Chloe runs in like 15 degree weather! “.
So, I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow when I’M FREEZING MY ARSE OFF RUNNING AROUND MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!

And you should see what I look like, hubby says I look like I’m going to rob a bank but I have to get out there in the cold and dark because there is just no time when I get home from work 3 miles in 35 minutes is a great time! No shame in using the treadmill since you have one!

@eeyorepoohfan Thanks, I will! I love her and hate that she’s getting older we bought her stairs maybe a year ago and she just won’t use them so after 2 weeks we returned them. She either keeps jumping or still just doesn’t try. But I ran the second day of my plan yesterday. Back to back days are getting harder! Either that or I suffered because of our office Christmas party the night before there was no booze ever since one paralegal’s husband got blindly drunk 3 years ago, but we had a TON of food and I don’t think I drank enough water with dinner. But I pushed through and got 3 sets done. 4 min walk/7 min run.

Total Running Time: 21:00This morning I did not run (and therefore got to sleep in for 30 minutes!) because I was not well hydrated. I had dental work done yesterday which was awful, and my face was swollen until about 2pm or 3pm. Even then it was hard to drink so I did not drink anywhere near as much water as I should have. It’s okay though, I had planned for at least one rest day because of my 5K on Saturday. I didn’t want to make myself too tired beforehand. Tomorrow I will run the third day of my plan (which is the minimum number of times it has you run each week), then take Friday off in preparation for Saturday’s 5K. I’ve been running for 4-5 days on my plan but I feel like that extra set each day plus Saturday’s 5K will keep me in good enough shape that I can still progress to Week 4 next week.
