They had Phase 1 closure at like 11 am. Crazy! That means no more ticket sales for AK
– at 11am!2 hours to get into Pandora and the. Another 4 hours in a queue line. It was an hour just for the Windteaders shop! What?! Crazy!

Oh yeah. Keep in mind that not only is it opening weekend but a holiday weekend as well, and pretty much the start of summer crowds too. It’s going to be one of the busiest areas of AK and probably WDW for awhile but I don’t think you’ll see anything like that in September. Fastpass for one of the rides and rope drop for the other is going to be highly recommended.

I guess we can say Pandora is a success

Echoing @Nascfan, I agree. I think Pandora is likely to be busier than usual AK crowd levels for September, but I don’t think it will be this weekend’s level of crazy. It’s a holiday weekend so it’s busier anyway, and it’s opening weekend so everyone’s going nuts. Keeping looking at the wait times each week if you’r’e concerned and I think in August when kids start going back to school, you’ll see a steady decline in the wait times Frozen had something like 300 minute waits when it first opened (in January I think) but I haven’t seen anything like that since

We can say the hype troop were a success… I will wait a couple years to gauge if it is a success… Peter pan will have hour+ waits in the off season, it is 45 years old…that is success.
Everybody wants to play with the puppy, lets see if it is still loved when it is an adult dog.May 28, 2017 at 8:32 am #29699
RIDisneyPinGuy182 XPThey have test seats outside of most Universal attractions. One is always a regular seat and sometimes the other is a “modified” seat for “guests with larger body dimensions” if those types of seats are available on the ride. There are always people sitting in those seats for fun and taking pictures of themselves, so I wouldn’t be embarrassed at all to go test one. Some people use it just to see if they can handle the restraints. They vary a lot between the different ride types and it saves time waiting in line too if you get to the ride vehicle and you can’t handle the restraints
I cannot ride many of Universal’s rides due to height restrictions. I’ve never been turned away from a Disney ride, and I hope that they do not start heading down that path now.

May 28, 2017 at 9:19 am #29701@RIDisneyPinGuy How tall are you? There’s only 1 Universal ride I’ve seen with a height maximum, hubby is 1″ under that and they’ve never even checked to see if he’s able to ride or not
May 28, 2017 at 9:46 am #29706
RIDisneyPinGuy182 XP@starbee I’m 6’9″. Our last trip, I was turned away from Hulk, and Rip Roarin’ Rocket, and one other I cannot recall (last visit was about 6 years ago).
I was basically able to do the dark rides, HP, and the Dragon Challenge all day. Fortunately they were very nice about letting my accompany my wife in the single-rider lane and using the chicken exit, and on RR Rocket, we were even taken up a staff elevator and put right on, because single rider was almost an hour wait.
May 28, 2017 at 10:02 am #29716Wow, that’s tall! yes, Rip Ride Rocket for sure has a high max of 6’5″. I’m surprised by the Hulk because I don’t see how your height would be fine for Dragon Challenge but not the Hulk? Same style ride, same restraints, similar tracks, Hulk doesn’t go through anything like RRR goes through a couple buildings. You for sure wouldn’t fit in the Flight of the Hippogriff (did I spell that right) ride vehicle because my hubby doesn’t that’s such a bummer, I’m sorry!

StupidJudy71 XPRight now wait times are 90 minutes for Na’vi and 100 for Flight of Passage, not sure how they are handling crowds in that land but that’s good news @acamm!
May 29, 2017 at 1:21 pm #29801
StupidJudy71 XPMine train is at 80 and Frozen 75 minutes, for comparison purposes.
May 29, 2017 at 5:02 pm #29818when i checked yesterday the waits were 120 for each of the Pandora rides. Do they cap at 120? i never know if that is accurate or that’s the “2 hours or more” number. regardless i don’t stand in line an hour for ANYTHING. fast passes and first arrival at the park i say.
