Yeah and to expand on that why more kids have allergies and get sick! Because there not exposed to anything. I’d rather have a big room full of dirt than support any drug company!

I’m excited to see what becomes of the Innovations area, but I would really like to see Disney bring back a biology-related pavilion such as it had with Wonders of Life. There is so much development in this area, and I struggle to see why it would be difficult to find a large pharmaceutical company to sponsor the pavilion. Since Wonder of Life closed, the growth in understanding from basic immunology, targets identified via the human genome project, cell and gene therapies that now can provide curative treatments have all been incredible advances that can be showcased in unique and fun ways.

    Welcome to Microbio 450 kids!
    That would be really interesting.
    They could have very informative lectures with cool 3D visuals such as;
    Flu Shots, Prevention or Myth!
To clone or Not to clone!
    The 1/2 life of antibiotics!

    :)

I feel the overhaul always steers away from the original plan of EPCOT. Why not keep the classic rides and then expand on them? For example the World of Motion could have stayed in place and expanded to Test Track. Expand on Universe of Energy, give it a facelift. The Dinosaurs have to remain a great attraction and a step into our current climate changes. Although I like a thrill ride as much as the next person, but I feel that is getting to be the theme of all rides in all amusement parks. I also like an informative/educational yet entertaining ride, such as Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination. Let’s not lose sight of the classics, please keep history a part of the parks. :ears:

    I totally agree on this.
The history of transportation became a thrill ride.
A study in Human Biology became a home for wayward rats.
Thank goodness we still have some oceanography (sorry but putting Nemo in there was stupid, wrong park), agriculture, space exploration, energy and human thought processes including Imagination.

And bring back Off Kilter whilst your at it!

    and Mo’Rockin!

Walt always said, the parks would never be finished. Tony Baxter commented on when they updated DLR in the 80’s. He was sick with stress because Fantasyland is Walt’s favorite. Turned out just fine. I think over time, the current generation will be linked to todays parks as we are linked to yesterdays.

I love EPCOT and it is still my favorite park. I have been very disappointed in its upkeep and lack of vision for some time now. The one big disappointment I have had is when they did away with the Xmas lights connecting Future World with World Showcase on the International Gateway about 8 to 10 years ago. This was always a favorite of us and I know so many others. I ask at Guest Services why they stopped it and they had a canned reply that stated it was to be replaced with something new. I am still waiting on that something new. For those that do not know what I am talking about check it on on YouTube, it was amazing…smjj

I keep seeing in blog posts about the pending demise of Ellen & Mission Space… and usually tied to it is mention of a GotG coaster ( :hmmph:  ).

Watching Miles from Tomorrowland with the kiddos yesterday, the episode brought up an idea, that would be an acceptable EEA (UOE) replacement. It would tie in a Disney franchise, have thrill appeal and kid appeal.

The episode featured floating desks in the classroom. Why not a slightly less-intense version of Universal’s Harry Potter ride, themed on Miles from Tomorrowland, where you are in a class with floating desks that teach about energy?

Oh how I hope that’s just a rumor! I love GotG but it has no place at EPCOT! I think that’s a great idea!

@RIDisneyPinGuy — send that idea to WDW Imagineering RIGHT. NOW. Love it! No clue what you’re referencing, but anything that keeps in the original E.P.C.O.T. spirit is fine by me!

@PA_Timekeeper, I would love to. However, I have heard from a few sources that Disney does not accept ideas from the general public unsolicited, and it is a pretty surefire way to never see what you are hoping to.

If you (or anyone else for that matter) have more accurate info than I do, on if/where/how to submit that idea, PLMK. I will do all in my power to get that in!

@RIDisneyPinGuy that is fascinating. And I have ZERO influence or clue of how/who to talk to. Wish I did!

I just can’t get over the lack of originality going into all these new attractions. I mean every time a new popular movie comes out BAM! Lets replace an attraction with a movie themed ride. EPCOT was and is supposed to be the park of the future and tomorrow! Not yesterdays movie. If they stay on the charted course They might as well rename Future World to land of yesterday and unoriginal themed attractions! Coming soon the next Disney movie attraction.

This is going to turn out to be an extension of DHS (Whatever it becomes after Star Wars Land opens) with slightly more science. But it will probably end up being tagged to the core with Disney characters. From what I understand, Leave a Legacy is getting demolished, the fountain is getting an overhaul, Mexico is getting a new ride overlay to coincide with their new movie coming out later this year called “Coco”, Innoventions buildings are getting gutted with new wiring, plumbing, etc, and a Guardians roller coaster may be going where UofE is now. It’s going to be an interesting few years at Epcot. Mind you, this is all rumor, but I could see it happening.
