Disney+ Shifts Release Dates to Wednesdays

I’m sure you’ve noticed that Disney+ has been releasing new episodes and movies/originals on Fridays. And I’m sure you noticed that Disney’s newest series, Loki, has been dropping new videos on Wednesdays. Well, there was a reason for it. Loki was the most-viewed series premiere ever! With that kind of success Disney decided to realign some of their upcoming releases.

  • Monsters at Work moves from July 2 to July 7
  • Turner & Hooch moves from July 16 to July 21
  • Behind the Attraction moves from July 16 to July 21
  • Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life moves from July 23 to July 28
  • Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts moves from July 30 to July 28
  • The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse batch two moves from July 30 to July 28
  • Growing Up Animal moves from August 20 to August 18
  • Short Circuit season two moves from July 30 to August 4

What do you think about this change? Are Wednesday’s better?

  1. Doesn’t matter to me. That’s the beauty of streaming services, you can watch whenever it’s convenient for you.

  2. It’s a very minor thing for me, but I do prefer Wednesdays. Our weekends are busy enough that when something releases on Friday, we don’t see it until the next week. Wednesday releases increases the chance we’ll see it the day it comes out and won’t have to spend the weekend dodging spoilers ;)

  3. I just love Wednesdays, grab a cup of Joe :coffee: kick back & relax. Wednesdays I normally listen to coffee jazz in the morning. I agree with the middle of the week with Disney+ releasing new arrivals instead of Friday.

  4. I like the middle of the week, so I don’t have to wait until Friday to see all the good stuff :)

  5. This is fine with me. I used to enjoy kicking off the weekend with The Mandalorian on a Friday night, but as Scott said, you can always save Wednesday’s episode for Friday. If they switched from Wednesday to Friday you’d have to wait longer and some might not like that. Sure things could get spoiled more easily with this earlier release, but I’m careful :)

  6. I honestly don’t care when they’re on because since it’s streaming I just watch it whenever I have time BUT I do tend to watch things mid week more than on weekends.
