What is is absolutely insane to me is that political correctness caters to the minority and eventually we will be able to say or do nothing. I swear, the Hunger Games are coming! It’s already turned into a land where we all have to think and say the “right” thing or we are jumped on and berated by the same people who insist that our words and thoughts are mean. I’ve never understood how being mean and hateful to someone for being mean and hateful works out, but apparently our world thinks that makes perfect sense these days. People know it gets attention and they look for anything and everything to point out that might be offensive to someone…not even to themselves….just offensive to someone, somewhere. It’s a strange sort of self satisfaction I think. “Look at me, I’m standing up for what’s right!” This is the bane of my existence. Sorry for the rant. ugh.

OMG you are sooo right! It really is scary to think what will happen when they are all that’s left. I’m going to haunt this earth just to see the fireworks. lol

I was made equal parts sad and angry by this announcement. I am so tired of having to bend to versions of everything that don’t offend anyone. I really am! That is one of the most quoted and memorable parts of this ride, and don’t even get me started on the this was one of Walt Disney’s creations rants, because I’ll just upset myself more. The whole ride can be considered offensive if you want it to be. Pirates were not nice. There. I said it. Will the ride eventually have to go because someone gets upset the entire time because “those mean pirates did this… and those mean pirates did that…” I hate giving easily angered people that much power all the time. If you were offended by everyone wanting the sexy redhead, then maybe you should have just skipped this ride. There’s a lot of drinking in it, too. Aye.

Rant over. I will still ride it, and while it may be interesting to see our favorite red head’s story be told from a different spot (and it is a cool back story), I will never like the new part more than the old part. Maybe they could just put the new part at the end and remodel Jack’s celebration from the treasure room? Then those easily offended folk could be like, “Oh, okay. She was a boss in the end. You go, Red Head. Get it, girl!.”

I’ll still be the jerk that yells it from the boat. Who’s with me?

According to my research, the last day to hear the famous lines will be February 25. First day of the new Redhead is approx. March 19. It appears to be a short makeover.
