Tricks for Acquiring Rise of the Resistance Boarding Passes

We were very successful acquiring boarding passes for the most popular ride at Hollywood Studios – Rise of the Resistance! Several people have asked how we did it, so I figured it’s time to make a post and share it with all our Pals!! As Figment
would say “Here we go”!First thing is to make sure you ARE NOT, I repeat, ARE NOT on Disney’s WiFi! This is key as Disney’s WiFi glitches and has high lag times. So make sure you are on your phones data (if possible). Then find the best place in your room (or if your an early riser and are willing to search your resort) to get the most bars or best reception. The window to start getting boarding passes opens at 7am on the dot so make sure you get up and give yourself enough time to be ready a few minutes before that 7am mark. Also make sure everyone that you want to go with you on the ride is linked up in your Disney “My Experience” app.
Next is to wake up, get ready and open Disney’s “My Experience” app. Then scroll down to the section labeled “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Request Access with Virtual Queue” and select the “JOIN” button as shown below in red. There are more steps to follow below
The next screen to pop up is shown below. At 6:59am you want to start swiping this screen down to keep refreshing it. this is something you might want to practice beforehand so you can see hoe long it takes your phone to complete this.
Next at 7:00 and you are lucky enough you will get this next screen shown below that says “Create Your Party.” Bypass everything on this screen except the “Join” button and immediately hit that “Join” button. The reason why you hit the “Join” button immediately is because the boarding passes are all taken within ten to 20 seconds so you don’t want to waste any time selecting anything else. As long as you previously had everyone in your party linked you will be okay.
Now make sure you take a screenshot of this right away in case for some reason the app glitches or whatever so you have record of it and then double check that everyone in your group has the same boarding pass. If someone doesn’t have it, go to a cast member as soon as you get into Hollywood Studios and they can help you. Also as long as you have the screenshot of your boarding group they can help you if something goes wrong in the app, etc. If you have any questions of need more info please feel free to message me and I will help as much as I can. It’s the same procedure for the 1pm boarding as well. Although it is much harder to get it then as they don’t give out too many more at that time, but I have heard of people having success then too. I would definitely try to get one if I was unsuccessful in the morning. Yes, as of now park hopping can’t take place till after 2pm
Agreed, but this is a version of the new virtual queues, and it seems that theme parks and also stores are going to this so you physically don’t have to wait in a line. I’ve heard that Universal is also using a version of this virtual queue. We also were in a virtual line for Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs, which was nice. It gave us the opportunity to go to several other stores and even eat a quick bite and enjoy a couple drinks at Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar instead of waiting in a few hour line.
