Theme Park Table Service

For us, table service restaurants are a must must must do! It’s a great time to take a little break from the heat and usually an awesome experience. Here’s some of our must do every trip :

Magic Kingdom :

Be our Guest (Ambience, the food and you can get to meet the Beast)

Hollywood Studios :

Mama Melrose No particular reason, we just love it! (Penne a la vodka )
Sci-fi dine in We love the ambiance (You get to eat in a car while watching movies) and we love the food

Animal Kingdom :

Tusker House We love this restaurant for breakfast there is so much stuff to eat and you get to meet Mickey and Pals (Buffet)
Yak and Yeti the food is really good

Epcot :
First of all this park as the most table service options of all the parks !

Garden Grill : Family style all you can eat food in a slowly rotating restaurant with Mickey and pals! The food is really really good and the atmosphere is awesome!

All around the world in world showcase you get a Table service restaurant in pretty much every country (All but America)

We love : Teppan Edo in Japan (Hibachi style) , Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada and Via Napoli in Italie! Those are our favorite!

I could go on and on and on with table service restaurants that I appreciate! Look for the type of food you are looking for, restaurants styles and you won’t be disappointed

My biggest advise would be go with your own guts ! Go on the Disney website and look at the menus, read about all the options ! Don’t pay much attention to the reviews! You will love your experience!

I agree with the already suggested picks. I’ll also add Jungle Navigation Company Skipper’s Canteen at Magic Kingdom. We definitely enjoyed that experience from our last trip!

Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom is also a favorite of ours.

Biergarten at Epcot is worth the trip if you enjoy German food like we do! (heavy on pork, potato, and cabbage, but there are other things).

I don’t think there’s a bad choice in here, some of my personal favorites:

EPCOT: Biergarten, Via Napoli, Le Cellier (pricey but the steak, you don’t even need a butter knife to cut it), Garden Grill
MK: Cinderella Castle (again pricey, but for a true once-in-a-lifetime experience, can’t be beat), Be Our Guest (dinner is the only TS here), Liberty Tree Tavern
AK: Tusker House, Yak and Yeti
Studios: 50s Prime Time, we really enjoy Sci-Fi also, even though I might get ripped for it, the atmosphere is top notch and we’ve never had anything less than very good food

I understand it’s that way for a fair number of people. We’ve just been never anything less than highly satisfied. Are we lucky? Maybe so, I don’t know.

I’ve had bad experiences at places I haven’t read people complaining about, and I’ve had stellar experiences at restaurants I’ve read people complaining about. You do what you wanna do!

Hollywood Studios – Hollywood Brown Derby (you can combine this with a Fantasmic Dining Package), 50’s Prime Time, Sci-Fi
Animal Kingdom – Tusker House

I must concur @Starbee! I think you hit the nail on the head. Just think of the sheer volume of people they serve every single day 365 days a year! If theres even 10 bad reviews out of a couple 100 thousand served I think its safe to say its still a good joint! Plus It’s getting harder to please this instant gratification generation! Cheers

Now, for my tastes

First, i wish to say I have never had a bad dish. That being said, some of much better then others.

MK – I have not been blown away by any table at MK. Did lunch at Be Our Guest and it was good, but not mind blowing. The grey stuff was good, although I wouldn’t say delicious….

Epcot – Food Heaven. Having a Euorpean palette, EPCOT lends itself to the open minded eater. Being German, I can say that Das Biergarten is authentic, if you like German. I have eaten in each country and was not disappointed. of all the places, Coral Reef was most disappointing to me, although, again, it was not bad

AK – Tusker house is a great counter, but if you ask me, take the time to go to Sanaa or Boma. Outstanding, memorable, worth the time to get there.

The Studios – 50’s cafe for me. Im not even a Betty Crocker style eater, but the food is magnificent here. Sci Fi was disappointing to me. Get the meat loaf

The real challenge: Planning the meal.

When I do WDW I eat dinner at 1:30. After, I head to my hotel for that afternoon nap (highly recommend if you have young kids). For me, because I am a foodaholic, the challenge is hitting the best places, and frankly, they are not all in the parks. Do not forget the hotels have great places as well. Being a foodcentric person that creates some challenges. If youre eating to refuel and get back to the attractions as quickly as possible, dont focus too much on the tables.

In the end, you have to consider who is eating. The meal plan is expensive to use for just kids meals. However, if you have a family that enjoys new things, I suggest the Counter/Table/2snack meal plan.
