It seems my latest tradition is spending Thanksgiving with my extended family. This will be my 9th out of 11 years working the holiday. Kinda sucks not being with family but we have all the same old food and fixins with the added bonus of visiting many other peoples feasts when their cooking timers go off. That’s sarcasm for the fire alarm. Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Hope you all have a fantastic day with all your Traditions.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!! I love when the whole family is together and all the yummy food!!! Unfortunately, we can never leave town because my husband can’t take time between Turkey Day and New Years. Every year my mom makes a caraway stuffing called (spelling will be wrong) Najivka. It is my favorite!! @laprana I hope you have a magical time!! I am envious!! :turkey:

My older sister, Britani, is coming over. She’s a blast! Every year on Thanksgiving for about ten years now, we all get graham crackers and candy and what not and create gingerbread.. sculptures. I’ve done Carousel of Progress, Big Thunder, and even the Jungle Cruise. I have a pretty good one for this year too!

The special food that MUST be on the table: Cranberry bread :ob: , Green bean casserole :figment: , turkey :turkey: , and NO CORN.  :donald:

My husband and I usually host Thanksgiving, since my parents host Christmas. We do the Turkey and the vegetables, my mom makes the stuffing and sweet potatoes, and my grandma usually picks up a pie for dessert. It’s just my husband and I, my mom and dad, and my grandma. My sister and her husband usually spend Thanksgiving with his side of the family. This year a friend from work may also be joining us. 6 is about all my house can handle…it’s a cute house, but it’s small. Usually we eat in the early afternoon and then watch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and sometimes we’ll also watch the Garfield Thanksgiving special. It’s pretty low-key at my house.

We are starting a new tradition this year. Our two daughters have always put up the Christmas tree the Saturday or Sunday after Thanksgiving (depending on where we are and if we have guests, etc.) and then decorate Christmas cookies. Since this is the first Thanksgiving since my oldest daugther’s passing, 7 of her close friends are coming over to join our other daughter in putting up the tree. Will be a special time as they pull out her special ornaments and hang them and share stories. Then we will all make and decorate the cookies. We are excited (and truthfully, also a bit nervous) for this special time and to see her friends as we miss seeing them regularly like we used to.

Be sure and share a picture of your new creation this year! And can’t you have corn on the table for other family members who might want it?! ;)

I’ve noticed that in other threads too, Ferg. Must have to do with coding or something :jafar:
