Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon WDW: Day 8

Wednesday April 26th:
6am alarm. Finished packing. Checked back for our flight and left our carry on with bell services. Breakfast by 8am. We walked back to our bus stop by our room. The next bus to MK was in 10 minutes. Thru the turnstile just after 9am. There was not too long of a wait at security and zero wait at the turnstiles! We rode Pooh with a 15 minute wait. Then the Tea Cups, essentially a walk on. Then to Space for our FP’s. Picked up our new Annual Passholder cards since we had renewed online. They have an AP relations office in Liberty Square. We then used our Thunder FP at 10:25am. Met Teri at Pirates. Used our 3 paper FP’s we still had leftover. I had to tell people to turn off their flash because they were using it constantly for the first few rooms and it was annoying. They were also using video lighting. I was surprised at CM didn’t come over the speakers to tell them to stop because we’ve heard them do that before. Ryan and I got our final Dole Whip of this trip. Then walked through the Sunglass shop. Then to Jungle Cruise at 11:45 to use our FP. Lunch at Cosmic Ray’s of BBQ pulled pork sandwich and rotisserie chicken. Ryan got a Main Street Ice Cream sandwich. I got Mickey bar. We got pics at the train station on our way out. Teri took the monorail to get to her car and we went to our bus stop. We had noticed on this trip that they put restrooms out by the farthest bus stops, so smart! We were to our bus stop before 1:30pm. We were dropped at RS main depot drop off by 2pm. We grabbed our bag from bell services, filled our mug and water and went to wait for the Tragical Express to the airport for our 2:20pm pick up time. We were cutting it closer than we had wanted to. But we caught our bus! We just had one stop to make at Fort Wilderness but no one got on the bus there, even with them waiting a good 5-10 minutes. We got to the airport around 3:15pm. We waited by the Disney store for Teri and my niece. The parking lot was packed so they were having a hard time finding parking. It was cutting it close for us to get through security so we gave final hugs and goodbyes. Yes, my sister will literally drive to the airport just to give me a hug! Ryan and I got through security pretty quickly. I grabbed Chipotle for dinner and Ryan grabbed Jersey Mike’s Subs about 20 minutes before boarding. We needed to eat because we had a plane stop, but didn’t change planes and wouldn’t have time to eat dinner later. Ryan had somehow gotten a business select boarding number when he checked in, so he was like A16 on Southwest. I was mid B’s! That stinker! But have no fears, he saved me a seat! Our flight left about 20 minutes late due to a paperwork issue. We were just a little late to Austin, but they turned over quickly. We only had a half full flight to El Paso, but of course, someone insisted on sitting right next to me! We landed about 15 minutes late and it was just after 8pm El Paso,TX time. We grabbed our luggage and drove the hour home. We pulled into our garage at 9:40pm We unpacked just enough and ate a bowl of cereal. Lights out after 10:30pm our time. We were pooped!

Overall, we had such a great trip! It was pretty hot for our entire trip but no rain. It was a fun race. Some things could be improved upon, but overall a great experience! We loved our stay at Riverside again and liked taking advantage of the boat from Disney Springs.
