Disneydana12 XPI’ve stayed in Alligator Bayou before and we really liked it. It’s very lush and the walk around the pathway is nice. It was also very quiet, we hardly ever saw anyone else while we were there. If you’re in a room close to the food court I don’t see why you would have any issues with it. I never think the pics I see of these rooms do them any justice. They make them look old and creepy, but in person they are just fun themed. You’ll like it!

bpellinen292 XPWhen we went on our last trip, we walked around in the Alligator Bayou area. It looked really quiet. Not a lot of people, but a lot of plant-life. When we stayed at Riverside, we stayed in a Royal Room, so we were in the mansion area. One thing we figured out, though, was that if the Riverside bus at night was really busy, to check out the French quarter bus, because it was usually quieter, and it was a nice walk along the river to get back to our resort.

April 26, 2017 at 7:07 pm #24232From my perspective, the rooms of any resort will be themed very well. The main things I look for in resorts are travel options. I like 2. Port Orleans has bus and boat so I think it is a good choice.

No matter which part of Port Orleans you’ll go to, you’ll admit that the background music is catchy, and needs to be added to the Jukebox (I’ve made the request already, but to have someone second the idea wouldn’t hurt)

bpellinen292 XPI have a question. I am getting things ready so when the packages for 2018 are released, I know what to tell the travel agent. I know I want to stay at Port Orleans Riverside (so relaxing). I know I want a Royal room. I’d really like a river view, but when I was on another website looking at the views, some rooms that are considered river views, actually look at the back of a staircase. I really don’t want to pay the extra for a river view, and end up looking at a staircase, with the river behind it. I’m hoping to request a certain room/area, but was wondering if anyone has done this, and if you got the room/area you requested.

I request room buildings for clients all the time. @nascfan can vouch for my room requests

bpellinen292 XPOk. I have/am agoing to ask Chelle to help me book this time, as the travel agent I have used in the past is having some family issues and is unable to help me book this time. I’m just trying to get things lined up so when the packages are released, I am ready to book with all my decisions made. Also, this is a surprise trip for my husband, so I have to do all my obsessive planning and hashing of the details either on here, or with my mom…we are going end of January, and I won’t tell my husband until his birthday which is the end of October.
May 26, 2017 at 3:18 pm #29514What a wonderful birthday surprise!

bpellinen292 XPThe hardest part is going to be not accidentally saying something to give it away. Thankfully, my parents are planning a trip for December, so if he hears me talking about trip details, I can just tell him I’m helping my parents. Also, I’m a teacher, and done with school next week, so I’ll have all day during the summer to take care of things if I need to, while he’s at work.
May 26, 2017 at 3:34 pm #29520I’ll bet! I’d let something slip so bad! It’ll help being able to finalize plans at home during the day. Yea for summer vacations!

bpellinen292 XPYeah…we’ll see if I can keep it a secret until then. The next big thing will be the reveal…but that’s another question for another forum topic…lol
