@monkcline The welcome show is worth a watch
Not quite as much fanfare as the one at the train station used to be, but still nice and lots of characters appear on stage, sing a song and a pop of fireworks to finish it off! I’m just glad they have a welcome show at MK because that park should have one more than the rest by the way, so much better than last October. Larger portion and having vanilla back and the float back was great! Last year they just gave us very small size pineapple only cups
I am beyond thrilled that vanilla is back!
they should never have taken it away! “The menu will remain the same” my backside! This seriously made my year that you got a vanilla float and swirls! I was reading how to make your own by purchasing the float at Aloha Isle and vanilla soft serve at Sunshine Tree Terrace 
that’s how bad I want my vanilla Dole whip! :p The show is far and away better than Wishes was in my opinion! That said, between the projections and the fireworks, it’s almost too much for the eyes to take in.
From what I’ve seen on the Disney Parks Blog, it looks so much better than Wishes to me! A valid and well-executed change. Can’t wait to see it in person!
To avoid the masses exiting right after we strolled into Tomorrowland to ride Space Ranger Spin and the PeopleMover, then left. We waited in line quite some time before we were actually able to fit on a bus though, but we expected that

Your day sounded perfect! I am envious you got to do Splash!! I am super bummed it will be down in September!!
You and me both! I’m so mad it will be down for our trip in October! :hmmph: what a ridiculous and inappropriate time for as refurb! What about January and February when it’s likely not warm enough for people to want to ride anyway!
That sounds like a great MK day! Tomorrowland at night is the best! Just something about the space-like feel and all the lighting puts it over the top after dark. Thanks for sharing your report
Forgot to mention that on this particular day when we were headed out of the park for afternoon break we saw a small army of Photopass Photographers on Main Street earning their ears.
This trip more so than usual, I was very much in the Disney spirit of things so as I walked by I shouted, “Best wishes earning those ears!” Many of them seemed very grateful and shouted back, “Thank you so much!”
It’s a joy to put a smile on the faces of cast members who work (or will work) so hard to put smiles on the faces of thousands of guests I hope I get more chances to do that in the future!
