@Monorail3 I share your sentiments as well. I have been able to acquire and record a large number of the old Disneyland episodes. It’s good wholesome TV that I hope one day my kids will enjoy as they grow up. Walt was truly a great member of society.

Ooooh I never thought of that! I’ll be keeping that in my back pocket for next season. Right now since the Steelers won their division (and beat the Ravens to do it), I don’t have to say anything. I just wear my colors and smile. :)

Originally from: Zion, IL (moved when I was 6 to Phoenix,AZ)

    Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Ride: Thunder Mountain Railroad (Disneyland version, dynamite room at the end!!)

When I was under 6 years old, we would drive from northern Illinois to WDW about once a year. We would fold the seats flat in the station wagon too! We moved to Phoenix, AZ and started visiting Disneyland in 1987 or so. We would usually get there about once a year as well. So we are a Disney family for sure! I met my hubby (Ryan) in college. He had only been to Disneyland once when he was 7 and only to EPCOT in early high school (he wasn’t impressed). Well, our last spring break of college, we booked a trip to Disneyland together! It was so much fun! I think he started to get hooked then! But Disney would have to wait for several more years because we moved to Iowa for 4 years for him to attend Chiropractic School. During our 3rd winter, we flew to AZ to visit my family and drove with my folks to Disneyland and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. We arrived the day after Christmas and stayed into the New Year. It was amazing to be at DL on New Year’s Eve, but I would never do it again! The crowds were insane! We were lined up on Main Street for the fireworks by 6:30pm! We opened our Chiropractic Practice on August 1, 2007. Needless to say, we couldn’t afford a vacation for a bit. But we finally got to go to WDW in December of 2009 and were there for our 7th wedding anniversary! We had never taken a honeymoon due to getting married right before heading to Iowa. It was such a magical trip! My hubby was HOOKED!!!!! As soon as we got home, he kept asking when we could go again. So we took our next trip in December of 2010. Our love for Disney runs deep! Our dog (a now 9 year old rescue Aussie/Border Collie) is named Winnie (after my favorite bear!)! We are currently Annual Passholders to both Disneyland and WDW!!!!! We will probably always have WDW AP’s since my sister moved to Orlando and year ago. We love to run in the RunDisney races. I completed my 6th half marathon a week ago at Disneyland! Looking forward to my 7th in April at WDW! And really think I might register for the Dopey for January 2018 (5K,10K, Half marathon and Full Marathon in the same weekend)!

Thats just cray @eeyorepoohfan! All those races in one weekend? Awesome story and I wish I had an annual pass again. Someday soon in about 10 years once the kids are out and working! LOL We also did a NYE at WDW and never again. They handed out those super annoying noise makers that you blow in around 3pm. You know the ones? By 4pm I was grabbing them and throwing them in the garbage!!! It was so flippen annoying. Needless to say somehow we made it to midnight and the ever so amazing Bacon brothers band. That was sarcasm. We left that mess and hung out by Dj for a bit then tried to get the heck the outa there. Oh we were at MGM. You know that feeling when you’ve just had enough and you just want to time warp to your room or you’re going to punch everyone in the face? well thats how I felt at that moment. Any who it all worked out and I’ve learned my lesson.

@Jloosh78 I might be a little insane to do the Dopey, but I think it would be amazing to accomplish!!! Tell those kids to get a job and earn their keep already!!! LOL Then you can get AP’s!! Oh man, that does not sound like an enjoyable NYE!!! Once is enough!

I’ve been here just this side of forever and most know me and a lot about me, but for those who don’t:

    Name: Scott
    From: Toledo
    Now: Still Toledo
    Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Ride: Impossible to choose. The best I could do is probably the favorite 3 or 4 from each park

I’ve been married to the love of my life for 28 1/2 years and we have a beautiful 25 year old daughter and wonderful son-in-law who got married this past April. I went to WDW first in 1972 when it hadn’t even been open a year and again in the late 70’s or 1980, before EPCOT had been finished. I would sadly not return until 1997 when we took our daughter, and my wife, for their first time. My family was hooked and we immediately started planning our return. We have since been many times including but not limited to our daughter’s high school graduation at AKL, our daughter’s college graduation to DL, our now son-in-law’s first trip in 2013 where he proposed to our daughter in the rose garden just at Tinkerbell was flying over during Wishes, our 20th wedding anniversary, and my 50th birthday (spent in the Magic Kingdom!). We hope and plan to continue to visit for many, many years as it truly is our happy place and where we call “home”.

Hi everyone, I do suppose I’m the odd one out here as I’ve never been to any of the parks in the USA. I had a Disney-filled childhood nonetheless, and I still plan on making Disney a huge part of my life. Having lived in Asia my whole life (until now), I’ve only ever been to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. The first time I visited Disneyland, I was 5 and my favourite character then was Dopey. I was incredibly lucky to have met him after having just entered the park, and I have a lovely photo to remember that moment by… even though it may look like I was dying to escape from him in the photo below! LOL I went back in October 2014 and visited DisneySea too, which I completely fell in love with. It has such a different atmosphere from Disneyland — somehow the nautical element makes it all the more adventurous and exciting for me, as I’ve always loved mermaids. Here’s another photo I took then, with my dear sister. I guess my experience just makes me a regular Disney-lover, as I really can’t compare with the many times you all have spent at the parks!

I’m now doing an undergraduate degree in photography in the UK, so who knows, maybe that might give me a chance to explore Disneyland Paris someday!

Love it @nascfan! I didn’t realize you had a big gap in trips! That was a long time! I’m glad you remedied that!!

I didn’t realize it had been so long either until I really looked at it! My parents were big on taking vacations when they could afford it (with three kids) but traveled around more than one place each year. I can’t complain, we drove all over the midwest, out to California, I’ve seen the Grand Canyon, it was pretty good!

@eeyorepoohfan OMG Winnie is so cute! Looks like the sweetest, softest thing ever! And I’m loving this thread because I knew a little about you and the others on here, but there was so much I didn’t know!

    @monstrousbeauty
Welcome! I’d love to hear all about your parks experiences! It’s so cool that you have such a different experience and perspective than most of us here! The pictures are great too, love the Dopey one

@kcboston Thank you so much!!! We love our Winnie girl!!! She’s a rescue with an abused past. But she loves us to no end!! She’s not trusting of other people, besides our dog sitter. She so soft and fluffy and full of sass!! I’m loving this thread too! Like learning people real names! LOL
