29 – I never thought they could top Wishes. I loved Wishes so much, it was always special to me. I witnessed my daughter proposed to by her now husband on his first trip, first night, in the Rose Garden just as Tinkerbell flew over! How can you possibly ever top that? Nope, I was upset when they announced Wishes was ending, genuinely hurt even. No way they could top Wishes. Well, they did. Happily Ever After is amazing! I’m in awe every single time I see it. I can’t believe what they created and yes, they topped Wishes. So with that, B – Happily Every After.
I’m glad you love Happily Ever After! There’s things Disney does sometimes that improve experiences, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t sad to see past experiences leave. For example Soarin’ is incredible, I’m happy with the change, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss Food Rocks. Thankfully Happily Ever After is a show you can still enjoy without surrendering your amazing memories from Wishes.
April 19, 2020 at 2:46 pm #130987Fantasmic but only the Disneyland version. Fantasmic in DHS doesn’t work with the Pocahontas scenes.
How is it different in Disneyland?
Maybe I need to search YouTube…
April 19, 2020 at 2:48 pm #130989Disney Question No. 30 – I’m going to go with Fantasmic
don’t get me wrong I LOVED Illuminations but Fantasmic has always been my favorite, can’t miss, nighttime show
April 19, 2020 at 3:01 pm #130992Illuminations was always my favorite fireworks show. Fantasmic is amazing but I gotta go with Illuminations
April 19, 2020 at 3:11 pm #130995@starbee Instead of a Pocahontas sequence, they use the Columbia Sailing Ship for a Pirates of the Caribbean (used to be Peter Pan) scene. There’s no Jafar snake, the soundtrack has Ursula in that moment and I think it’s since changed. They slightly changed portions of it so now there’s a Jungle Book sequence with a Kaa similar to Jafar snake.
Also their Dragon animatronic is a full dragon and not just a skeleton, it’s way cooler

InactiveXPIlluminations for me. I just love the musical score, and probably in my top 3 of most played music files from this site. Still miss it, but remaining optimistic about the replacement show.

April 19, 2020 at 8:23 pm #131344April 19, 2020 at 9:25 pm #131346Wishes and Fantasmic for me. I could never SEE Illuminations…plus when i saw it as a teenager i got ash in my eye so it’s always been a bummer for me.
April 20, 2020 at 9:41 am #13158129 – Happily Ever After. I really enjoyed Wishes, but Happily Ever After is so beautiful.
30 – ILLUMINATIONS FOREVERApril 20, 2020 at 9:51 am #13158228 – I have never seen “Happily Ever After”, but seeing all these comments makes me really want to!
29 – Fantasmic. For some reason, Illuminations never really did it for me. Maybe because as a kid my mom made us hold a spot for TWO HOURS to see it and that’s forever when you’re a kid.April 20, 2020 at 10:37 am #13160528- Wishes
29-Definitely Illuminations. Going to be hard to top this one for me.April 20, 2020 at 11:44 am #13161429 I’ve watched both online and LOVE Happily Ever After
30 Mmmmmm….I have to say Fantasmic, as I’ve only seen that one (at Disneyland) and it holds a special place in my heart.April 20, 2020 at 1:26 pm #131637D-COT Daily Disney Question #31
