This is looking to be our last trip for a while, so we plan on hitting some buckey list items! :smirk:

The longest I’ve had to wait between trips in recent years was 14 months. Hope your wait isn’t too much longer than that! :donald:

Currently in our longest drought. Too much “life” has happened to us over the last 20 months. Looking for things to settle down this summer to a point where maybe, we can start planning.

…i’m a get there when it opens kinda girl…they are the go have a big breakfast at the resort and get to the parks around 10-11 people. AHH!!! the horror!!!!

We usually stroll in about those times, we rush so much at home that when we’re on vacation it’s we’ll get there when we get there! I didn’t get any early FPs since we missed our only chance of riding TSMM last time with a morning FP (no way we’re waiting standby for 120 minutes). I am going to try to get us there “early” on the day we go to Studios, since that’s our only day there. We’ll see what happens!

I feel your pain. 2016 smacked us down hard! I hope you get another trip in the works real soon!

That would be a dream! We used to take a trip once every year, but more recently we’ve been going every other year: 2011, 2013, 2015, and then this year 2017. After this year we’re hoping for 2019, but realistically it might be more like 2020. Hopefully not later than that, the thought of 2020 feels like eternity! :surprised:

@rocketear99 – I know! Although there are some tracks I just can’t listen to if I don’t have an upcoming trip. Makes not being there and not knowing when I’ll be there unbearable.

My high school marching band gets to march down main street pretty much every other year. They tend to be a dead-ringer for Maryland’s 1A Championship.

My mom is really pushing for our family to go to WDW in the next couple of years. But since starting this fall, both of my kids will be in high school, it would be hard to arrange a time that everyone can go. No one wants to go dead smack in the middle of summer and neither kid wants to miss that much school.

Spring break? That’s why we’re going next week, that’s our spring break, the principal wasn’t happy with me last time I took my son out of school to take a vacation. Oops! Not saying I won’t do it again though! :p

@bexruns I can understand those thoughts, but having gone in the summer I can say that if you make the effort to plan ahead your reservations and FPs, if you plan to be in the parks exclusively before lunch and after dinner and take the entire afternoon (the hottest and most crowded part of the day) off for relaxation, shopping and pool time, the summer can be one of the BEST times of the year to go.

The primary reason for that is virtually nobody who plans goes in the Summer. My wife and I enjoyed our late July trip as we did what I suggested above and the only time we fought crowds was as we were exiting the parks and, while it did get hot, due to our afternoon rests we never got overheated.

I 100% agree with this. When we went a couple years ago in July for my birthday my wife was very fearful of how the crowds would be. We followed this plan a lot also and it was one of our best trips!

Thank you both for your input @RocketEAR99 and @Nascfan. I think just summer in FL is kind of making us all cringe. But only my mom has been (and that was like 3 years after WDW opened!). How long would you suggest an adult family go to get the full relaxing not rushing experience during the summer?
And I am most definitely a planner, I’d be making all the reservations for literally everything I possibly could. :)
