Hi y’all. We have a family WDW trip planned for this August and, I expect to go on a work trip to Orlando in September. This will be the first time I have ever visited WDW twice in one year so, I’m planning to buy an Annual Pass for myself. Are there any passholders here who can help me get the most out of my AP in just two visits?

Use the AP for any and all discounts you can. This will include room if you are staying onsite. The discounts can be very deep. Also, lots and lots of dining places offer discounts. Here are two handy links: http://allears.net/pl/apass.htm #ent and https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/passholder-benefits-and-discounts/dining-discounts/
All merchandise should be at a discount. The toughest part will be to remember to tell the CM at the register. Have your AP card and id handy.
There are also these other entertainment discounts if you’re interested in any: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/passholder-benefits-and-discounts/sports-and-recreation-discounts/

Hey @connie96, we have plenty of passholders here! Definitely take a look at the passholder benefits online, like the dining and merchandise discounts. This year they even gave passholders more/better benefits, so it’s a great year to be a passholder. Also, never be afraid to ask places if there is any kind of AP discount. A lot of cashiers simply forget to ask, so definitely ask anywhere you go.

ALWAYS ask if there is an AP discount. Also there are random things you don’t think about…free parking at the parks, discounts on tours, and passholder exclusive items. When i went to the F&W last year we got free AP glasses for visiting epcot 3 times during the festival. I know last year they gave a print to those who went to the flower and garden festival (right @nascfan?). Plus an extra set of bands and special newsletters and privileges – @kcboston got in on first look at Pandora – i would have totally signed up if i was going to be there during that time!

Yep, three prints. One for each month of the Flower and Garden. Good call Jamie!

This is all awesome. Thank you! Yes, I’m really hoping to use enough discounts on our family trip (for which we will be getting two rooms, so double the resort discount!) to save at least the difference between my one-trip park tickets and the AP.

I’m thinking I’ll wear my card around my neck to “help” the cast members remember to remind me. lol!

I know! I’m excited just to have a reason to consider getting an AP. :) And, once I have it, I may have to find opportunities to stow away on other people’s vacations for the next several months. LOL LOL

And depending on how your family eats, passholders have the ability to purchase the Tables in Wonderland card, which gets you 20% off at most table services restaurants (and that includes alcohol!  :mint: :mint: ) In the resorts that don’t have a table service restaurant, then you get 20% off at the food court. It costs $150 for the card, and it expires the end of the month the next year (so if you purchased it today, it would expire at the end of April, 2018.) This is something where you need to run the numbers to see if it works for you, but it’s something else that passholders have access to.

Yeah, I’ve heard of this but I don’t think we’re going to do many (if any) TS meals. We’re planning to spend more time playing and less time eating (sitting in restaurants) this time around. Who knows, I may live the whole week on :mbar: :dole: :turkey: :churro: :cupcake:

@kcboston but you don’t really need that 20% now, do you? aren’t they offering 20% off most thru September? when does the special end – sep or oct?

we also are going to renew this time cuz ours expires 9/15 but if you renew now you get 13 months next time so it would go thru Oct 15 of 2018. woo hoo! looking at taking the hubby in oct 2017 for Starship. it is already on their tour board for Oct 27-29. just the question is can we get home in time for halloween with the kids?

The 20% isn’t off all the restaurants, and the discount does not cover alcohol. For example, in Animal Kingdom, the passholder discount applies to Flame Tree BBQ and Tiffins. Tables in Wonderland applies to Flame Tree, Nomad Lounge, Pizzafari, Restaurantosaousafalpoas, Tiffins, and Tusker House. In Disney Springs the AP discount only applies to food trucks and D-Luxe Burger Bar, where TiW covers 12 different locations, including Morimoto, the Hangar Bar, and Homecomin’. So it depends on where you are eating, and that’s definitely something to account for when running the numbers :dole: :turkey: :mbar:

Question: When I arrive at WDW and need to activate my AP… Can I do that at the hotel or do I have to go to a park? Can y’all offer any advice for getting this done as efficiently as possible?

Also, do I need to have a paper copy of my AP email confirmation or can they scan my barcode from my phone screen? (I have printed PDFs of all my documents and saved them in a folder on my Dropbox for easy access.)
