We all know Disney resorts can immerse you in a unique setting without you even stepping inside a theme park. Whether it’s the Pacific Northwest, the Florida Keys, a Caribbean, Mexican, or New England coast, the islands of Polynesia, or the African savanna, Disney resort hotels have it! Looking for the charm and comfort of the old south by the river? You’ll be whistling Dixie the whole way to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside at Walt Disney World!

The music from Port Orleans Riverside was added to the D-COT Jukebox on April 3, 2019, but Riverside has been a popular stop for guests since February 2, 1992. In fact, it was originally called “Disney’s Dixie Landings Resort” at that time. It wasn’t until nine years later that Riverside and French Quarter were joined to become one giant Port Orleans Resort and, in terms of guest rooms, the largest resort on Walt Disney World property! Riverside on its own could be the second-largest resort. It isn’t so large for no reason either. Riverside is probably the mainstay of all the Moderate level resorts on property as it pairs a unique, immersive, and comfortable theme with a mid-range price tag in comparison to other Disney resorts.

While at Riverside, guest can find boat transportation to Disney Springs, a counter-service restaurant (Riverside Mill Food Court), a casual sit-down restaurant (Boatwright’s Dining Hall) that serves southern and Creole dishes, and the River Roost Lounge which is most popular Wednesday through Saturday nights. On those nights, Yehaa Bob Jackson shows up to rule the roost as he sings wacky tunes and tickles the ivories to entertain all who stop by. In 2011, Disney unveiled special Royal Rooms at Riverside to offer that Disney regal feel, especially for princes and princesses at heart, without breaking the bank.

Not enough you say? Well now they’ll even let you bring your dogs to stay in the room with you! For all these reasons and more, Riverside has gained quite a marching band of return guests, so adding the jazzy music to the D-COT Jukebox was a long time coming and it shows! In just 7 months, this track has earned a play count of 715, with a current weekly count of 4. 24 D-COT Members have made it a Favorite and Supporters have added it to 13 Custom Playlists. It trumpets out a 4.8/5 average rating with 23 votes. Next time you’re looking for a special treat in your Disney accommodations, consider a stay at Riverside. Otherwise, you can always swing on by the Jukebox, listen to the music of Riverside, and let your mind roll on down the bayou.

  5. POR is my Disney home. Have stayed their twice with my family when younger and in about a month, it will be trip number four staying at POR with the wife. Love that resort

  6. POR is the place for music & Beignets. For Riverside I visited once when Bob Jackson performed on stage.
