This is Halloween… Disney style! Disney is known for putting a little pumpkin spice into park life at its anchor theme parks. Disneyland in California is, of course, no exception. Even though Disneyland is situated in a climate where there isn’t much seasonal change, they do add the colors, along with unique sounds, smells, and tastes suitable to this time of year. In New Orleans Square, the land famous for the original Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, you’ll find a staple counter service dining venue in the French Market Restaurant. Year round, this restaurant serves Louisiana favorites like Po’Boys, Red Beans and Rice, Corn Chowder, and Jambalaya. True to Disney form, this menu doesn’t offer “fast food”.

It offers good food, fast, that really sticks with you on a long park-touring day. Another neat add-on to dining here is the chance to catch a performance of the Royal Street Bachelors – a jazz trio that has been performing in New Orleans Square since the land opened in 1966!

Along with all of this, a special musical track can be heard around Halloween. The track that is the feature of this article was added to the Jukebox roughly a year ago on October 17, 2018. This area music is basically comprised of the musical score for The Nightmare Before Christmas which is fitting since this time of year also sees the nearby Haunted Mansion transformed to include characters from and scenes inspired by the film. Disney fans are largely mixed when it comes to the enjoyment of The Nightmare Before Christmas, but a great many fans love the music from the movie regardless, and that is what makes this area music so special. It is a perfect blend of haunting and holiday.

In the past year, this track has been played 739 times. Since Halloween is upon us, it also is getting a weekly playcount of 12. 14 D-COT members have made this a favorite, while Supporters have added it to 18 Custom Playlists. It gets a 5.0/5 average rating with 31 votes.

It’s a great time of year to tune the Jukebox in to this track, but it’s also a great time of year to visit Disneyland and hear it for yourself while you enjoy seasonal food favorites at the French Market Restaurant. And while you’re there, don’t forget to stop by the Mint Julep Bar for the house specialty, New Orleans Mint Julep. It’s non-alcoholic so everyone can enjoy it!
