In this article we are going to map out our evening from start to finish. This includes the attractions, wait times and complimentary snacks. We will tally it up at the end and see if it was worth the ticket price. Ready? Set? Go!

8:00 PM – Happily Ever After

We were walking off the monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center as the fireworks filled the sky from “Happily Ever After“. Instead of making our way through the touch points, we stopped and enjoyed the show from outside the park. Here are some pictures.

8:18 PM – Enter the Park

As Happily Ever After ended, we made our way through the event touch points and received our wristbands and event guide. These purple bands would be our access to all the entertainment. The Villain After Hours guide was really well done. It’s the nicest one we have ever seen.

8:25 PM – Meet Mickey (15 Minutes)

First stop? See the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse! With such a short wait time, we had to make sure we stopped in to share a hug and a smile.

8:45 PM – Jungle Cruise (15 minutes)

There is a gap here due to the strategic planning for the night. 😋🤔

9:40 PM – Pirates of the Caribbean (10 minutes)

The party starts at 10 PM and runs until 1 AM. Pirates of the Caribbean has a couple special guests roaming inside the attraction. As we exited our first trip to POTC, we saw it was after 10 PM so we got right back on to check it out.

10:04 PM – Pirates of the Caribbean (10 minutes)

It was really cool to see some live-action on this classic ride. The first time you see a live pirate is in the battle scene between Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa. The second time is right after the scene where Sparrow is hiding in the barrel scoping out the key and map. You can find a pirate walking across the bridge. Argh, mateys!

As we left the attraction and made our way to the closest snack stand, we saw a cool projection on POTC to help celebrate the night!

Snack Time

We hit up the nearest snack stand as it was time to start taking advantage of the complimentary popcorn, ice cream novelties and refreshments.

Disney popcorn, ice cream and soda
  • Popcorn ( $5.25 )
  • Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich ( $5.69 )
  • Diet Coke ( $4.50 )

10:44 PM – Big Thunder Mountain (10 minutes)

Snack Time

Disney popcorn, ice cream and soda
  • Popcorn ( $5.25 )
  • Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar ( $5.69 )
  • Sprite ( $4.50 )

11:15 PM – Space Mountain (5 minutes)

The thrilling villain-inspired surprises included something different for Space Mountain. All they did was change the sound track to villains cackling and screaming. The ride itself did not have any lights on or projections so it was completely in the dark. not very impressed, but it was a different way to experience this ride.

Snack Time

  • Strawberry Fruit Bar ( $5.25 )
  • Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich ( $5.69 )

11:48 PM – Haunted Mansion (5 minutes)

12:04 AM – Big Thunder Mountain (10 minutes)

Snack Time

  • Popcorn ( $5.25 )
  • Diet Coke ( $4.50 )

12:30 AM – Villains Unite the Night

The castle for Villains Unite the Night
Villains Unite the Night

This stage show at Cinderella Castle starring Hades, Meg, The Queen, Maleficent, Jafar and other hilarious hoodlums runs for 20 minutes and is a nefarious way to enjoy some of the event’s entertainment. As we waited for the show to start there was a dance party with a DJ spinning monstrous music in front of the castle. The music was really good!

1:00 AM – Villains’ Cursed Caravan

This was a new addition to the after hours event. The Villains’ Cursed Caravan joins Maleficent—the fire-breathing dragon—as she slinks her way through the park twice nightly. We saw Ursula, Gaston, Oogie Boogie, Cruella DeVil, Captain Hook and more as part of this wicked procession.

1:15 AM – Exit

As you leave the park, some of the villains give you a treacherous good-bye from the train station above. Gaston was hilarious with his beauty and muscle comedy.

Wait Times

The majority of the attractions had a wait time of 5 – 15 minutes. The two that we saw that had the greatest wait times were Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan. These hung around 60 minutes.

How Much Food Did We Eat?

Tickets run $145 per person if bought in advance, $155 per person if bought the day of the party. If you want to go, definitely purchase tickets in advance. Annual Passholders or Disney Vacation Club members get a $30 discount per ticket, bringing the cost down to $115. Tickets are on sale through Disney’s website.

Let’s see how much we ate in complimentary food.

  • Three popcorns ( $15.75 )
  • Two Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches ( $11.38)
  • One Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar ( $5.69 )
  • One Strawberry Fruit Bar ( $5.25 )
  • Three sodas ( $13.50 )

Total: $51.57

We could have enjoyed more treats, but we also wanted to take advantage of the short wait times, stage show and cursed caravan. We didn’t eat enough to make it worth the ticket price. Let’s deduct that from the ticket and we now have $93.43.

Is Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park worth it?

Yes, totally. Another perk of this event ticket is you get to enter the park at 7PM and enjoy some more attractions and see the Happily Ever After fireworks. That is six hours in the park and three of them come with complimentary food.

If you would like to attend this event (and you totally should), reach out to your Magic Maker from Off to Neverland Travel and they will be happy to help. A great tip would be to make your Magic Kingdom park day the same as the Villains After Hours event. Just think, 10 minute wait times for your favorite attractions while chomping down on some complimentary popcorn? Now that’s pretty vicious. 😋
