BREAKING: Wonders of Life Pavilion at Epcot No Longer Festival Center, New Attractions Coming?
Basic rundown: Wonders of Life pavilion got some roof work done the other day. Now Disney has announced it is no longer the Festival Center (the Odyssey Center has been opening up a lot more recently).
SPECULATIONS:
New attractions?
Refurb of Cranium Command? (I doubt this one)I think this’ll probably transform into the space restaurant mentioned at D23 last summer.

ThemeParkRider13 XPMy guess is this won’t necessarily be a new attraction just yet, but Disney definitely has this building on their radar for something. This video from the DSNY Newscast is a couple months old now but here it seems to indicate that the Mission Space restaurant will be at a location slightly closer to the building (starts at 2:25.) Either way, I’d love to see this building get some attention!
February 25, 2018 at 11:14 am #67744Is this official or just what WDWNT speculates is true? They have a habit of reporting rumors as gospel truth. While sometimes those stories do become official later, that’s not always the case. I can believe this because the pavilion has sat as an empty shell for years, just curious if this has come from the horse’s mouth. I hope we wouldn’t lose the Festival Center completely, it’s fun during Food and Wine so I’d like to see it re-homed and not lost completely.

You do bring up a good point. I did a little poking around the digital map on MDE, and usually the Festival Center is listed as an attraction but it’s nowhere to be found. And with the recent roof cleaning, they could just be jumping to conclusions. I do hope they bring it back one more time during Food and Wine
February 25, 2018 at 4:40 pm #67773That it will not be used as the festival center for Flower and Garden this year has been confirmed.

VikingMickey53 XPIt was awfully dated, esp. inside.
I say, put Maelstrom back in there next
February 26, 2018 at 10:03 am #67802I would to see this turn into something all year round. I always make it a point to visit this pavilion when it’s open. I know the 360 restaurant is going up somewhere around there but I can’t imagine them using this pavilion for it.
February 26, 2018 at 10:10 am #67804Maelstrom!
“The Body Wars attraction was reportedly decimated during testing of the new Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and Cranium Command has been left pretty much untouched since the closure.” Wouldn’t that be cool to see all that?!
World Showplace is used for the festivals now, right?
February 26, 2018 at 10:11 am #67805I agree it is pretty dated ! It would be nice to see new attractions in there !

StupidJudy71 XPBring back Cranium Command!
February 26, 2018 at 11:21 am #67825I’m going to guess that part will be that space restaurant, part will be some kind of meet and greet with superheros since they really are taking over the World, and the rest will be shopping or something they can charge for. Or a small theater advertising upcoming movies.

But that’s too simple! Wouldn’t you much rather keep the movie previews where they are, overtaking a brilliant film for an extended ad?
February 26, 2018 at 4:07 pm #67862Intriguing. I never pass up an opportunity to visit that building when it’s open for some reason or another (usually Festivals). Would love to see them do something more permanent with the space!
