My husband still insists the reason we go back is the cast members…they make it feel magical. 95% of them are smiling and helpful and happy…no where else can you go and get that.

My first WOW moment when visiting Epcot as a kid in the 1984, and seeing Spaceship Earth! I was SO impressed and in awe of the size of the structure, and that there were moving ‘robots’ inside of it that told this amazing story about the history of communication. I was so impressed with the Michelangelo scene, that I remember thinking about it for 2 years until we got to back to Disney again! To this day, Spaceship Earth is still my favorite attraction in all of WDW.

The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the park impresses me the most. You have tens of thousands of people coming through these parks every single day…most of them kids. Food falls, things are left around, but it is picked up almost immediately. If a bucket of popcorn hits the ground, it does not stay there for more than five minutes. That is incredible. Also, the normal wear and tear you would expect to see with this many people coming through the parks never shows. Paint is rarely seen chipped or faded. They do a great job.

One of the things I remember the most from the first time I went to WDW at 6 years old was the hitchhiking ghosts. How on earth do they do that?! I remember it freaked me out! I DID NOT want to ride the Haunted Mansion ride to begin with and now their is a ghost on my doom buggy!!!! I was bawling my eyes out and telling my parents how scared I was. They told me I’d be fine, turned on our camcorder to film me crying, and laughed at me lol.

To me just about anything to do with Disney is impressive. That’s what makes it so special and keeps the hoards of people coming back year after year. Overall, I’m always really impressed with their attention to detail, the cleanliness no matter where you go, and the level of service from each and every cast member. It’s a well oiled machine from top to bottom. The food is pretty good too and they are making it for hundreds of thousands of people. What I probably love the most is how immersive Disney is. When you are there it’s like you are worlds away from reality, worries, work, etc. I feel like I get to escape from it all and it’s nice to have a break. A break from it all is healthy & Disney always provides that for me.

As a writer in my spare time I love a good story. It’s the story telling aspects of everything that I love. Everything has a story, Everything is there for a reason. Disney has me spoiled in that sense. I went to the nearby Six Flags once and after getting off the Batman coaster all I could think of was “Why was themed to Batman?” The Disney storytelling aspect has me spoiled lol
