Agreed @bexruns ! The reasoning here doesn’t make too much sense.

Don’t these lines (and original voices) appear in At World’s End right between when the crew went over the falls and before we see Captain Jack Sparrow in Davy Jones’ Locker?

    Yes

The part that cracks me up is THIS is the problem. But hey, keep the “don’t be cheekin!” part where they’re basically drowning (hello, murder?) the guy in the well. And then all the alcoholism thats rampant and general debauchery.
There’s 5 movies now based on this ride and in the very first movie, Jack goes to the island of Tortuga (where the ride is supposed to be) and there’s (sorry for the language) basically whores/prostitutes. That’s all ok though, right?

Exactly, not to mention with the current debates over firearms in our country, I don’t think giving the redhead a rifle is going to be any more politically correct. Not that I take issue with it, I don’t have an issue with the current scene either, it’s just our society is offended by everything and anything so I’d leave it

what people dont realize is that its perfectly fine for someone to be offended. You have the right. You also have the right to not put yourself in the situation to be offended. IF it offends you, dont partake…geez

Uggghhh….this just seems so ridiculous! I love that scene, not because I support buying brides, but because it’s a classic part of a classic Disney ride. Leave the redhead alone! :hmmph:

Not to mention whether you put it in a Disney ride or you don’t, if you sell a DVD or you don’t (I’m looking at you Song of the South) these things still happened in history. You can’t erase it, you just gotta deal with it

They’re literally singing about looting and kidnapping, so why is this part of the ride so shocking?

I hope this doesn’t prompt them to change the song as well.

Political correctness is driving me nuts! That scene has already been there for decades, why does it need to be changed now?

I’m right there with you on the politically correctness! It’s going to rot our society! :hmmph:

At risk of advancing this down the wrong road, society has already crumbled… sadly it has now infiltrated the castle walls. :'(
