Wednesday January 25th:
3am alarm wake up and we were both coughing. We had allergy flare ups from our Disneyland trip a week before and still hadn’t recovered yet. We were out the door by 4:35am. We had breakfast and coffee at the airport. Our 7:10am departure to Houston was on time. We had time there to grab a quick bite to eat before boarding our flight to Orlando. We left on time and landed at 1:55pm. We walked right onto our bus at Magical Express and the doors closed within minutes of us taking our seats! Talk about perfect timing! We were driving before 2:30pm on the bus and were to Caribbean Beach within 30 minutes. This was our first stay at this resort. We were in Jamaica room #4155. It was a 2nd floor room with a touch of the water view and the courtyard. The room seemed to be newly renovated and we absolutely loved the room itself. It was quite the trek of nearly a 20 minute walk from the customs house to our room. Had we known, we would have taken the internal shuttle bus. But we got to walk the grounds, which was nice! We changed clothes and unpacked our carry on bag. My sister, niece and their friend surprised us and showed up for a quick hello and dropped us off a few things. They stayed for about 20 minutes. My sister and I squealed, cried and hugged a lot. We are super close and it’s hard to live so far apart now. My niece had to get to dance, so they took off. We got on the bus to EPCOT at 4:40. It took about 10 minutes to do the loop in our resort since we were the first pick-up spot. It was then a 10 minute drive to EPCOT. It seemed like it should be a faster drive since we are on the backside of EPCOT. But by the time you drive all the way around to the bus drop off, it took a bit.We used the handy dandy AP entrance at EPCOT at the turnstiles! It was nice no having to wait in a longer line! It was 5:25pm. We went straight to Test Track to use our FP by 5:25pm. After our speedy ride, we were hungry! So we went to Sunshine Seasons. Ryan had the Mongolian Beef Fried Rice and I have the Rotisserie Chicken with yellow rice and black beans. Both were good! It was just before 7pm and it was time for our Character Spot FP. It took a little while because there was a huge group of at least 20 people in a family ahead of us. So it was about a 20 minute wait before we even started seeing the characters. Neither of us felt up to using our Mission Space FP’s. So we opted to just meander around World Showcase. We didn’t even really stop anywhere, just took it all in. We did make one stop in Germany for a rice Krispie treat, Chocolate caramel and fresh caramel corn. We walked over to Soarin and it was just a 10 minute wait! We got the middle section! Best section! We were getting tired. So we walked through the Art Store. After leaving there we were asked to take a computer survey, so we did. It was asking us about food offerings we ate that day. Disney is one of the few places that I don’t usually mind taking a survey. We got a few pics with Space Ship Earth on our way out. We were to the bus stop by 9pm. The park closed at 9pm and Illuminations was just starting. We had debating watching Illuminations, but were just too tired and didn’t feel like dealing with the mass exodus afterwards. We could see some of the higher aerials. Our bus was there within 5 minutes We got back to our room and our luggage was waiting for us. So we unpacked and got things settled. Lights out by 11pm.
