@SEJ101 Their single rider and Express system isn’t always a mess, we experienced the single riders being inefficient twice. The Express only appeared to be an issue at Halloween Horror Nights. Disney did the same thing with FastPass we noticed during the Disney portion of our trip. Haha, I got into Horror Nights as a challenge to myself. I’ve always enjoyed classic horror movies and I would grow up going to Universal in the fall and I remember seeing the commercials and how they would freak me out as a kid. So I decided in 2013 I would go one time, just to say I did and to face my fear – well I chickened out and didn’t go which I regretted! So in 2015 I went for one night with that same aim. I about had a panic attack in the first house, but you get used to it and by the end of the night I didn’t want to leave and wished I had tickets to go again. So I returned in 2016 for 3 nights and 2017 for 3 nights and I’m hoping to go again this year. I get an adrenaline rush like when I ride a coaster so that’s fun, but the draw to me is to be in a house that feels like you are on the set of your favorite movie. They put so much attention to detail in those houses it is just like the movie and they find actors who look like the actual actors which is incredible. As a big movie fan that’s the part that I love. Oh and it’s funny when they’re going after someone else
January 16, 2018 at 10:05 am #63054It appears the real Horrors of Blumhouse are the posted wait times!!!!!
I’m confused as to why the Purge would be a part of a house if it has its own Scare Zone…Good one! sometimes they have the same theme in both a house and a scare zone. The Horrors of Blumhouse featured three different Blumhouse movies of which The Purge is one, and then they had the scare zone which worked really well! The houses and scare zones are different experiences.

January 16, 2018 at 3:30 pm #63111Sounds like a great day @starbee !! I have been following along very closely to your Universal trip report because we will be there Valentines week! I’m really looking forward to riding the new rides: Kong and Fallon!
You’re super brave to go to Horror Nights, I may just pee my pants if I ever am there during that time

Thanks! I hope you have similar low crowds in February to what we experienced in October. You’ll have to let me know how it goes! Remind me, are you staying on property? I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and help you make a plan Kong and Fallon are fun! Definitely make Kong your rope drop attraction at IOA and for Studios, aim to do Despicable Me then Rip Ride Rockit at rope drop. Those will get the highest waits in the first hour.
January 16, 2018 at 3:58 pm #63122We are at the Doubletree at the Entrance to Universal Studios. We have 4 day single park tickets, no park hoppers which means we will do each park for 2 solid days… and no Hogwarts Express this trip.
When we were there 2 years ago, we stayed at the Universal Pacific Royal resort so we had free front of the line passes. This trip, we will be prioritizing the same way that you did I think So, thank you for the tips!!
