Just got home from seeing it. Spoiler free review: Wow just wow. I left the theater with a lot of questions…but in a good way. Nothing that hurt the movie. Questions that leave me wanting more. More of this world. More of these characters. I can’t remember the last time I left a movie feeling that way. It’s very refreshing after all the Marvel and Star Wars Disney shoves down our throats now. Why was this movie not hyped up? Outside of a trailer I saw in front of Lightyear I haven’t heard one word about it and that’s a shame. I left the theater with 7 out of 10 in my mind but the more i thought about the more that number changed until I decided on 8.75 but that also scared me a bit. Not scared about anything in the movie. Scared because I don’t want to know what critics think. I think it’s a wonderful movie and I want it to stay that way. Wonderful movie. Go see it.

I only saw one trailer for this movie. I don’t recall Disney promoting it at all. Pretty sure that’s why it bombed at the box office

Ok so everything I’m seeing how is Strange World is a horrible movie. Am I wrong for enjoying it? What am I supposed to like? Every movie I enjoy in the past few years is panned and I’m considered a bad person for liking them.

You are never wrong for liking what you like. No one has the right to tell you what to like and what not to like.
I’ll give you a for instance…. People absolutely LOVE Frozen, going so far as to say it’s the best Disney movie ever. I’ve watched it a couple or few times….”meh” is my reaction. Zootopia is a hundred times better in my opinion but doesn’t get nearly the public love that Frozen does.
So no, you are not a bad person for liking it, nor should you think you are. I will say as you stated above that Disney didn’t promote this at ALL as far as I can tell. Their marketing department needs to do better.
