I freakin’ LOVE Stitch’s Great Escape, but it has to go. But for this?!?!?! REALLY?!?!? It seems the “theater in the round” style attractions aren’t too successful
“Stitch’s Alien Encounter Character Greeting” replaces Stitch’s Great Escape at Walt Disney World
October 2, 2017 at 4:29 pm #50725Bandaid fix… no more, no less.
With the amount of dead space in the other three parks (not so much AK anymore, but it went through a long period) the last thing Disney can afford is to add to that list of unused spaces that once housed attractions.
I do not think it is a bad idea, hopefully they have more than just Stitch in there.
October 2, 2017 at 4:40 pm #50726I agree, they need harder to meet characters in there with Stitch !

Maybe Angel? Really though, we already have a Stitch greet, so it better be more than Stitch.

October 2, 2017 at 6:52 pm #50732That’s very smart how they put stitch inside the pre-show besides the main show building. I hope Angel joins the
Meet and greet?October 3, 2017 at 7:09 am #50766Maybe they will have other futuristic type characters? Buzz Lighyear? The Incredibles?
October 3, 2017 at 8:15 am #50795seriously? ugh what a waste. if they are going to do it they should do Stitch and Angel. or maybe Jumba and Pleakley? Just Stitch is boring…YAWN
October 3, 2017 at 8:40 am #50805Does this mean Skippy and SIR are gone? they were the only good thing about Stitch’s Great Escape, I loved having that small piece of Alien Encounter to hold on to
October 3, 2017 at 10:22 am #50830They did this on the top floor of Innoventions (which was once Carousel of Progress/America Sings) with the Marvel characters. I guess I’d rather have this and have buildings getting SOME use than just sitting there.
October 3, 2017 at 3:18 pm #50880@starbee From my understanding, Skippy, the Doughnut Guy, and the Sargent formerly known as SIR will remain in the queue simply waving. :|
October 4, 2017 at 10:45 am #50996I wonder if this is just temporary while they figure out the design of a new attraction for this space? Stitch is great. He’s my daughter’s favorite. But I’m not sure he is SO popular he would get his own dedicated meet and greet building for anything long-term. Maybe they will add characters from Monster’s Inc too since the Laugh Floor is there and their space was demolished at DHS? Maybe they move Baymax here at some point as he is is a robot and science and future?
October 4, 2017 at 10:48 am #50997I agree, I reckon this is temporary. There are so many characters I wish would have a meet and greet, I hope they use this space wisely
October 4, 2017 at 10:53 am #50999@Ferg I think a Monsters, Inc meet and greet would make sense there. Bringing Big Hero 6 (Baymax and Hiro) over from Epcot could work as well.
@starbee I agree. Hoping this space is used wisely. I know many liked the experiences of both Alien Encounter and Stitch’s Great Escape, but they were both ones that I could skip without regrets.October 4, 2017 at 12:29 pm #51025I really liked Alien Encounter! I can see how it’s not everyone’s thing, but I loved it! Never cared for the Stitch attraction even though I love that movie!
